The Naval Institute Historical Atlas of the U.S. Navy

Good deal!
Got one in very good condition, even if used (only has a small crease in the corner), at less than half the price of a brand new one. Very informative, with short summaries of major battles and clear, simple maps showing the tracks of the action. Will surely be good for short readings over a cup of coffee, one battle at a time.

For class. Interesting Reading.
I bought this book for a history class focusing in the US Navy's impact on foreign policy and US defense. Interesting class. Interesting reading. It might be worth noting that I NEVER thoroughly read class material. With too much to read I'm forced to skim, but with this book, I've been reading it like a novel. In some cases, the maps can be very helpful in understanding the events. Other times, they are disappointing and not well thought out.

$75?
$75! It's not made of gold. Mr. Symonds is great, and I have his Decision at Sea, and Battlefield Atlases of the American Revolution and Civil War, and I think they are all superb. But $75 for this, a paperback book whose maps are not in color, is a bit crazy. $30 would be a fairer price.
