G8-7 Battery Cover Removable Type-C Charging Port Adapter Aluminum Alloy for GoPro Hero Black 8 - Protective Type C Charging Port (Small)

This battery cover is garbage. They include a flyer saying they'll give you a $5 amazon credit for reviewing it, so I can only assume all the good reviews are from people just wanting money.. The original battery door incorporates metal into it's hinge for durability. The replacement cover's hinges are completely plastic and I can already see some wear just from attaching the cover. I tried snapping the new cover on and it appeared to be good at first glance (first pic), but once I close it, the plastic hinges pull away from the metal bar in the gopro creating a gap and not allowing the door to sit flush with the camera (other pics). Dust and dirt would absolutely find their way in through the top. I tried readjusting it multiple times, tried snapping the cover onto the metal bar harder, but same problem. I watched a customer video of them installing it and you can see in the end how their door doesn't sit flush either and is pulling away from the top, but they quickly shut the video off.. for $19 this trash is being returned and I guess I'll take my chances with another listing as I need a door with access to the USB c. Hopefully some other company is selling a better quality version. It's a shame because the new cover itself seems like great quality, made of metal, but they skimped on the most important part, the hinges.

We use a Hero 8 to livestream from a fixed location in a spot nowhere near a power source. Some of the events are rather lengthy and the on board GoPro battery had gotten so low that the fear of the battery dying before the end of the event was a real concern. Bought this item to be able to attach a power bank to supply power to the GoPro without having to keep the battery door open. Works and looks great. Last live stream event lasted well over an hour and at the end of the event, the GoPro battery still read 100%. Very pleased with this purchase. Just be mindful that it is not waterproof, so if you use your GoPro around water, it could get damaged. That is not a concern for us as ours is used indoors.

Needed a means to continuously charge my handlebar mounted GoPro 8 Black for long periods while keeping the battery slot sealed. This cover clicks on solidly and fits flush and tight to ensure the camera remains water tight.Made of aluminum so I expect it will last longer than the camera! The anodization is of high quality and smooth and even. The locking tab opens only with a downward push in a certain direction so doesn't accidentally flip out.Great design and well thought through.For the price I'm very happy with this product.I'll definitely buy another when I get my second camera soon.

I ordered this GoPro Battery Cover so I could continuously charge my GoPro Battery while I am using my GoPro. I mostly use my GoPro (Hero 8 Black) for fishing related activities. I find that keeping the battery charged helps alleviate any problem with the battery going dead during my activities. I do have extra batteries on hand but it's a hassle to change the batteries and much easier to just keep the battery charging on a Mophie or other type battery charging pack. I have posted 2 photos: 1 shows the battery charging cord plugged into the GoPro through the Battery Cover, 2 shows the battery charging cord going from the GoPro into my pocket where the battery charging pack is located. This is a great little product to have if charging your GoPro battery during use is beneficial to you.

The sample I received matched up with the lines of the GP8. The door doesn't stick out and isn't inset at all for me. The unlocking latch is stiff, like it should be so it doesn't come open by accident if the camera takes a hit. It is an action cam after all.It's important to note, in NO way does this make the camera waterproof. Not only is the USB port full exposed (obviously) but there is no rubber liner around the door edges. This is 100% expected but I see some people who seem to think it might be waterproof, or waterproof if they plug the USB hole.Overall I think it's a great product if you understand the limitations of exposing the power port but it is overpriced and you're paying a premium for it.

I have only had a GoPro for two weeks. Batteries are cheap enough, but I wanted more options for longer recording times. Found this door replacement and hooked it up to a power bank. USB-C cable fits right in and this door works great. Keeps the battery in at the same time as letting you plug in an external power supply.

I use this product on a GoPro eight black mounted on a motorcycle helmet during my rides. The internal battery does not last for hours so I use a USB sub c cable with an angle connector plugged in to the camera and the other end plugged into the motorcycle and so I can record video for 14 hours if I want to. A piece of black electrical tape holds the connector in. Without this cover you cannot apply external power to the camera without the possibility of the battery falling out.

This is what I was looking for. The product is exactly as advertised. I don’t understand the 1 star reviews. I wanted to add a larger battery, but there are none. This item allows me to plug in a battery so I can record for more than 1 hour. Ordered it one day and got it the next.
