The ENGLAND version is a MUST HAVE
The Pony Club Manual from ENGLAND, not USA, should be a must have in every horseman’s collection. It’s essentially the Bible of Horse information. USA sometime after 1990 has IMO messed up the Manual by dividing theirs in to levels via several books versus just having the one.

Manual of Horsemanship
My Grand daughter was delighted with this present. She has recently started horse riding, and will really find it very useful when doing stable management and for all other aspects of looking after the horse. My own children have the older versions of The Manual of Horsemanship (from when they were in Pony Club) and I love the design of the new version, which is very clear and well laid out and I think a lot easier to read.

An English equestrian's essential foundation reference book
This is an essential item in every new English equestrian's library. In addition to this current version, I've owned several past editions of the book since 1980 and each one has been fantastic. This edition is the best yet. Since this book is published in the UK, a small number of the terms used are more common in Britain than North America (i.e. Rug versus Blanket, loose box versus stall), but all the information in the book is excellent and the few terminology differences should not deter anyone from buying the book. It is suitable for all English riders (not just kids, but also adults) looking for foundational knowledge in both horsekeeping and riding, plus the associated universe of tack and equipment. In addition to this book, I recommend people delve more into horse behaviour by also studying Pat Parelli natural horsemanship, and similar programs that put the horse-human relationship at the core of the program, especially if they want to understand the 'why' not just the 'how and what'. Cross-discipline learning in the equestrian world can provide additional nuggets of insight and knowledge. Great book!
