As long as you don't spread it too thin, it works well. You have to use a fair amount and it will kill the moss. This is far cheaper than the alternative the big box stores carry.

I've used the product several times. It appears to kill moss. The problem is that once established, moss has produced enough spores to continue for years. I've done the post kill power raking and pick up of the dead, or, at least blackened, moss. A LOT of work. The next year it is back pretty much the same, maybe somewhat less. So, it's a yearly battle just to have some semblance of control. Commercial lawn services (True Green, etc.) tend to get real quiet when asked about moss control. Their answer to the question tells me a lot about their expertise. Bottom line is that it's the most effective and best cost wise of moss control on the market.I ordered 3 bags (the sale was limited to a max of 3). the first bag came separately and was packaged well. The second 2 bags didn't have enough filler in the box which allowed too much movement resulting in a torn bag with about 25% of its contents spilled in the box. The result was a bit of a mess and you have to watch this stuff as it (and the Scott's version as well) will rust stain surfaces if you get any moisture on spilled contents. I dinged the stars for that reason.

Males my cold season grasses thick and green. This is a small grain product, easy to apply to much to an area. Know your spreader settings when using. To much does not seem to hurt my turf, just not getting best value.

Worked well enough to kill some smaller nuisance patches but I have some serious moss that requires a more aggressive approach.

I've been using Moss Out granules for years. My yard has heavy moss along the top of stone walls and the grass next to them, and at the base of fences and walls, especially on the south side. The rest of my yard doesn't have moss. The sprays are okay, but if you take care to apply the granules with a gloved hand, right on top of the clumps of moss, and pile it on thick, that moss will be dead in no time. Put the granules where you need it most and cover the moss completely with a heavy dose of granules. You'll get much better results that way than with the hose spray (liquid) or a spreader (granules). Moss eventually wants to come back, but just keep on applying Moss Out when you see any moss. I apply it in March when the ground is wet and more rain is on the way.

I had SO much moss in my yard! I finally decided to take steps and bought this product. It worked so well in only about one day! The moss turned black and I waited a few days and then raked it all up. I'll replant with grass seed this fall after I rake up the thatch, etc. I had to apply a second time about 6 weeks later, but moss is persistent and just awful. I live in a high rainfall area, so once it got started, the moss just seeped into all parts of the yard. This product was very helpful.

2023-06-20:Added in some pictures of the bag, content %, and instructions / spreader settings. Another added note, make sure to blow / sweep any of the material that is on stone / concrete / wood as the iron can stain those surfaces when wet.
