Mandala Wonders Color Art for Everyone

The media could not be loaded. There are 24 different jungle animal and flower/plant designs in this new book book by Leisure Arts. The designs range from a single animal (with very complex and intricate components) to collages animals and/or plants covering the page. The designs are all supplied by GMC Designs/Shutterstock, Inc. I don't know if that means there are various designers within those companies or not, but there isn't a specific artist mentioned. I have seen similar designs in other books that are associated with GMC Designs but I can't verify if they are the same exact ones.The paper weight is nice and heavy – very much a feeling of premium grade paper. The designs are printed on one side of the page (with the back side blank.) The pages are all micro-perforated so removing them from the book will be easy. The print quality of the design is excellent. There are parts of the designs which are rather intricate.All of my markers and some gel pens have leaked through this paper. If using either media, I will either remove the page from the book or put some chipboard under the page I am working on to keep the ink from bleeding through.There is information on the inside front and inside back page which explains color and shading techniques. I am very impressed with both the quality and the subject matter in the new line of Leisure Arts coloring books.These are beautiful designs to color and should be a lot of relaxing fun. I usually reserve the last hour of the evening for my coloring – I find that it helps me go to sleep more quickly when I time it just so.

Usually, when I have a color book of mandalas, there is a single, circular image on the page. On these, in most cases, the image is more of a montage of overlaying itself and filling the page. It is very pretty and should be a lot of fun to color.The paper weight is nice and heavy – very much a feeling of premium grade paper. The designs are printed on one side of the page (with the back side blank.) The pages are all micro-perforated so removing them from the book will be easy. Having a single point of focus really seems to relieve my mind and help me relax. That this is a book of mandalas which are used for meditating makes it even more relaxing.

I'm absolutely obcessed with this coloring book! These mandalas can take up many hours if you want them to; it's a great activity to lose yourself into and you actually have something beautiful to show for it at the end.In the covers of this book, it illustrates color theory and how to shade and tint colors. Very helpful for novices or just to see how the color wheel looks quickly.As an adult novice, I enjoy the varied difficulty of the different pages. I do think this book would be appropriate for ages 13 and older. They aren't too intricate to make you not want to start them like others I've seen.This is my second coloring book so I'm still getting the hang of how to make the colors jive and harmonize. I colored this using all Crayola markers (20pk ultra fine tip & 100pk SuperTips)I'm one to pick and choose which ones I want to do and the preferated pages are wonderful since I prefer coloring on a clip board. This book is a good price for the quality of the overall book. The paper quality is nice and very thick. There was some bleed through since I use markers, so I would recommend using a blotter page or coloring outside of the book to prevent the other pages being marked on if you plan to color with markers as well.One thing I noticed is that the paper seems to take color differently than my first coloring book I got from a discount shop on a whim. It soaks the ink in and then the color changes slightly as it dries, but it looks really deep at first. Not a complaint, it usually causes the marker strokes to become invisible with how it soaks up color.

Older Children loved it - Reasons I love coloring books: Recently, sales of coloring books for grown-ups have skyrocketed, and bookstores are having more trouble keeping certain coloring books on the shelves. These bestselling coloring books are billed as “color therapy” or cheap stress relief, a time for adults to unplug from the rush of the digital world and just sit down with a few coloring pages and a nice set of colored pencils. What more could you ask for? And hey, got a friend who is really stressed out or having to sit with a sick child or parent? These adult coloring books make great gifts. Coloring books are a way for adults who don't normally draw or paint to be creative. A blank sheet of paper or an empty canvas can be daunting, but a coloring book acts as a bit of a buffer in this situation. Coloring books don't require anywhere near as much logical thought as, say, drawing a portrait. There are a lot of benefits in zoning out and relaxing. Then there's people who are recuperating from illness or dealing with a difficult time in their lives, they too find the calming, almost meditative effects of coloring is beneficial to them. Chances are the last time you spent some time coloring you didn't have a mortgage, a horrible boss or a worries about climate change.

Color art makes some lovely and affordable books. Just received and colored a page which will post below. Will add pictures when finished and I remember. Paper is nice, has a nice tooth to it. Enjoy!
