1 and 2 were so much better
CONTAINS SOME SPOIILERS ….The first movie was amazing, it was a really good, unique story, and it was really scary and full of emotion.During the first one, it was so scary that I actually screamed out loud.It is about a little boy who does astral projection (where you are able to have out-of-body experiences so that you can leave your body and fly anywhere you want), and so he finally went too far and traveled out to the Further, so that he is in a coma and may never wake up.Elise (the psychic who connects with the dead) and the little boy's father travel into the Further to pull the little boy out.I highly recommend the first one.The second movie was good, but not as good as the first one.The second was an immediate continuation of where the first ended. The second was not as scary, and it felt more like it was tying up loose ends and completing the first, which wasn't even necessary. This third movie was nowhere near as good as the first two. This third one has no connection to the first two, except for the demon woman who wants to kill Elise, which was a very small part of this movie.Except for the character of Elise, this movie really had nothing to do with the first two. This movie started out really good.A girl (Quinn) visits Elise to try to reach her dead mother.Quinn tells Elise that she has questions for her mother, but we never find out what those questions were. After trying to reach her mother, without success, a demon comes out instead.Right after Quinn gets hit by a car, the movie started going downhill. She has two broken legs in plaster casts and is helpless without her wheelchair or to be carried in and out of bed.It was not scary. There were jump scares, but I saw all of them coming because it would get very quiet and slow first.I thought that it was actually cruel for the demon to lift and throw a girl with two broken legs. Then she ends up with a protective collar around her neck because now her neck is also injured. Then, the demon possesses the girl and walks around on her two broken legs, kicking her plaster casts until they break right off.And three men just sit on the floor and watch all of this…they don't look afraid or in disbelief, they just stare and do nothing to help the girl. The possessed girl limps around on two broken unprotected legs, and you can hear the broken bones crackling, and yet, she is stronger than the three men.At the end, we never know what happens to Quinn's two broken legs, but she probably will never walk normally ever again. The demon was not scary, just a little creepy and weird. The demon looked too weak and fragile to be scary, it was just a sick old man with a breathing mask, actually named, "The Man Who Can't Breathe."All that needed to be done, which was finally done, was to remove his breathing mask.I didn't see any anger or evil coming out of the demon, he just looked like a pathetic old man who was only desperate to breathe and live. This demon has no reason to "attach himself to Quinn," except for that he died in that building and Quinn just happens to be there. There was a boy next door, Hector, who really liked Quinn. But right after her car accident, we never see him again. As soon as she was injured, he lost interest in her. There was an old lady next door, Grace, who was dying and had a little bit of a connection to the other side because she was so ill. After she died, she tried to connect with Elise to help Quinn.A lot more could have been done with that character, but they didn't use her enough. The little brother, Alex, appeared to care more about Quinn than anyone else, even though Elise made him leave before the final scene. He should have stayed because it would have been more interesting if Alex had gone into the Further with Elise.Elise did not have the strength and determination that she did in the first two movies. In the first two movies, Elise wanted to help and really cared. In this movie, Elise was afraid and tired, she just wanted to lie in bed holding her dead husband's vest and her old dog.Elise seemed to help Quinn at the end because she felt like she had to, like she didn't have much choice, not because she wanted to or because she cared at all.The emotion was gone from this movie, the strength and desire to fight the demons was not there, the desperate caring between the family members was not there.Quinn's father looked tired and emotionally beaten down, like after his wife died, he didn't care about anything anymore. The same was true of Elise, her husband committed suicide and she just existed without him, she retired from psychic work and became afraid of the demons and the Further. All of this is why the third movie was not as good as the first two.

For my Neighbor
My neighbor likes horror movies and thriller movies and I bought this for him. The case and DVD were fine, and he would like the movie. The ordering was smooth, checking out was no problem, and the DVD arrived one day early. We watched the movie, enjoyed it, and the DVD worked like it should.

its getting better
Alright, here we go. You have to watch this one, its even creepier than the next one. The acting is good, and the characters are still connected to the story line. I'm glad I have this one also.

'HAS IT'S MOMENTS'
This the 3rd in the Insidious series, the first, did have a chill-factor, the second didn't match-up in truth, whichis often the case with sequels, this edition is set a few years before the 'Lambert' Haunting.'Quinn Brenner' (Stefanie Scott) lives with her Father 'Sean' (Dermot Mulroney) and younger brother 'Alex' (TateBerney)...'Quinn' misses the strength and guidance of her now departed Mother 'Lilith' often begging to speak toher so much so 'Quinn' seeks out a now-retired physic 'Elise Rainier' (Lin Shaye)who at first refuses to help, butrealizing how far young 'Quinn' had come agree's to try and contact 'Lilith' however her attempt reminds her ofjust why she had stopped.'Quinn' will not however give up trying, her need to contact her Mother becomes all consuming so much so she'llenter the dark-side and bring into her World a entity that wants what 'Quinn' has ........life.Though 'Elise' had been threatened when she'd briefly crossed-over she realizes that the young woman 'Quinn'who had earlier asked for her help could be in a whole heap of trouble......this time 'Elise' will surely try to helpthe stricken 'Quinn'This certainly has it's moments, though i wouldn't describe it as scary it does have it's moments of tension alongthe way, the images of the entity's a little creepy at times , this is perhaps one to catch on a movie-channel sometime.Features -Cherry Glazerr - Tiptoe Through The Tulips / Macabre Creations - Stunts - The Car Crash / Origin Story - Making ChapterThree / Haunting - A Physic Medium Speaks / Deleted Scenes

Pretty strong sequel/prequel
As far as sequels/prequels go, this is a pretty good one - it's all rather familiar stuff of course but it's good at what it does and ticks most of the right boxes for this sort of fare.Previous Insidious viewing and knowledge isn't absolutely essential, this one rewinds the clock a few years and throws in some new characters so it can stand alone or be enjoyed as part of the wider storyline. These new characters are a young girl named Quinn (Stefanie Scott giving it some good scream queenage) and her father Sean (Dermot Mulroney). Quinn is being stalked by a demon from "The Further" and enlists the help of our favourite parapsychologist Elise and eventually the ghost hunters, Specs and Tucker. The usual spooky chaos ensues and it plays out at good brisk pace with a decent amount of frights and jumps along the way. Admittedly these are virtually all of the LOUD noise variety but they work pretty well amidst the suitably tense atmosphere. We get a bit more (tragic) backstory for Elise and see her first meeting with later colleagues Specs and Tucker. There's the odd dash of humour thrown in as well to lighten the tone as required. Writer and co-star Leigh Whannell settles into the directors chair this time out and does a solid job as it all adds up to an enjoyably unnerving ride.

Unimpressed
Insidious 3 is a prequel to the first two movies, but like parts 1 & 2, I didn't find it to be a truly horrifying film.It has moments which may make you jump, but it doesn't quite deliver as far as the horror is concerned.I think this is partly to do with the subject matter in Insideous being rooted in the supernatural. Ghost stories don't seem to translate well in an increasingly atheistic world.I think Whannell's best work was with James Wan in the Saw series. That said, Insidious is a solid production. Well shot, edited, etc, it just doesn't hit its mark.

Marvellous Horror
Before the haunting of the Lambert family a psychic Elise agrees to use her ability to contact the dead to help this girl who is tormented by a demon. Edge of the seat thrills with the jump here and there just to keep you awake and alert. This takes us back to the beginning so what are you going to do pick up the movie and munchies or retreat to the bedroom and hide under the covers. This is all I'll tell as not to spoil it for you. I rated this an A grade plus for the ideas and sheer horror that comes along with it. Take my word try to relax, as this will have you guessing. Enjoy!

Not so best but a good film
Not the best story than first and second insidious as first story is more best for it jump frights and characters as it is continued to second final part of story as this second insidious is less best because we already know the characters. However, this one is rather like goosebumps because of it low fright sequences than any other supernatural horror genre and is worst for it story but it is the best for some of it jump frights and one or two darkest frights at end, also if the story had not been about a teen girl being possessed by same demonic creature than different demonic creatures then these new different creatures would be more frightening than same, also this film would had been more because of different creatures unpredicting around every dark alley because of it wider famous jump scares around her and designed as extremely spookier when invisible before taken as possessed then it would be worth more than a one time watch and guaranteed to knock you back of you seats every time you play it. However, it fit well to least best supernatural films collection of mine. One and two like always is gonna be my repeated watch and as for originals then this is why like they say, first ever originals are always best without same characters!
