a great,solid and strong tactical
Sweet looking blade! Very solid feeling.well made and strong.very good quality, fit & finish.recommended as a tactical/defensive tool or hard use utility but dont expect a great slicing machine. Details below. The pivot was extremely tight as delivered and the nylon/teflon washers were a bit rough. But after 2 days of flicking it open and closed the pivot smoothed out nicely and i can easily flick it open and closed now. Very smooth and without play. The pivot is a proprietary design without a torx socket unfortunately. But a e-clip/snap ring plier works well to adjust its tension. That awesome clip point flat ground blade is quite thick at about 5/32" and has a great looking drilled fuller and nice bead blast finish. Its perfectly centered, has very clean symetrical grinds and is made from 440C,a good steel. The blade has a very obtuse, wedgy grind and is very thick behind the edge. It came with a good sharp edge and cuts well for what it is but its just never going to be a great slicer due to the thickness. Its not designed for that though. Its meant for rough and tumble tactical purposes and although a bit short at 3-5/16" for my tastes,it should get the job done nicely in an emergency. It has excellent stabbing potential and is thick and strong enough to pry, gouge and dig with. The ripped off Benchmade axis lock works well, locks securely and is quite smooth. Its sprung a bit stiff though and takes alot more pressure to unlock than the real thing. Its good and strong though and locks the blade tightly with zero play. And it has excellent retention also. A nice action and lock. The frame is made of fairly thick steel liners nested into G-10 scales and assembled with 2) small to medium build screws with standoffs. Its quite sturdy and the scales offer excellent traction.Ergonomics are very good.its comfortable and secure in all of the 4 main grip styles and is versatile enough to allow for modified grips to include a deeply choked up grip for heavy cuts. The thumbramp has excellent jimping cut into the scales and provides superb traction. Really nice handle all around. The pocket clip does interfere a bit in some instances but is mildly annoying at worst. Its ambidextrous tip up only and is secured by a large glass breaker. Youll need pliers to adjust it if needed as its designed to be installed with a small spanner wrench not provided with the knife. Pliers work fine though but will gouge the glass breaker if not careful. The clip is extremely deep carry but is made from thin sheet steel and has minimal tension and retention at best. It needs a better clip. All in all this is a great little knife as long as you understand what its designed to do and dont expect it to do what its not meant to. Use this for the tough stuff or to defend your life, use a para military-2 to slice tomatoes. As a tactical/defensive tool, hard use general utility knife or collectible i think its great. And its value is off the charts. Its highly recommended to everyone.just dont expect it to slice like a lazer. 4.5 stars

Good enough, but poor edge retention!
I collect knives, and as a general rule, I never pay over $40 for one. There are many very good knives to be had in that price range. My favorites would be the spyderco Tenacious, the Ontario RAT 1, and the Kershaw Volt II, and the CRKT drifter. Those are 4 very good every day carry knives. The Ganzo G702-G is a nice knife as far as its overall fit and finish goes. It's a little on the heavy side compared to the knives I mentioned already. The knife opens smoothly and the lock is tight and secure. Normally 440c Blade steel is okay, but from my experience with this knife, the edge retention is quite poor. Obviously every knife needs to be sharpened every so often, but the Ganzo seems to not hold an edge very long. I work as a general Handyman and use my knives every day for some demanding tasks. They are often pulled out in a pinch to cut drywall, open packages, cut banding straps, whittle down pieces of wood or trim, dig out old caulking, and even used as a makeshift prybar. I consider my knives to be tools, and I expect them to work. With the Ganzo, cutting through one roofing shingle did it in. I've cut a shingle or two with my other knives and they have been okay. The edge on the Ganzo was gone after just one cut.For $20 you can't go wrong, but for a bit more money, there are much better knives to be had. 4 stars for fit and finish, but less than desirable edge retention.

good fighting knife
Love this knife, it's big, beefy, super lock up. Not a utility knife but for as a defensive back up. might be a bit scary for the public. handles are comfy for my taste and the axis lock works well but could be better

Excellent knife at a great price
I've been a knife user and collector since I was a kid. I have bought folders that coat ten times as much as this one, and I'm familiar with all levels of quality in a knife. The materials, fit and finish, evenness of grind and initial sharpness are all spot on. The lock up is solid and without play. The blade is centered. I am very happy with this knife.

The knife has a good edge and has held it for a while
Belt clip bent on first use. The knife has a good edge and has held it for a while. I can't complain much about a knife at this price. If you plan on carrying this knife in your pocket only, it's a great buy.

Good quality, you at least get more than your money's worth. I have bought two and used a lot. You will need to sharpen as the edge is not sharpe enough when you open.
