100 Bullets: Brother Lono

MUST READ for 100 Bullets Fans!!
After Cole, Lono was my favorite character from 100 Bullets, so when I saw he had his own book I bought it immediately! I do wish there was a little bit more @ss kicking from Lono, but Azzarello's story telling is always so fantastic, that the telling of Lono's transformation and eagerness to repent made up for it. Even going so far as to have himself imprisoned so not to hurt anyone when the "animal" starts to bare its head! Azzarello and Risso are an amazing duo, creating masterpiece after masterpiece imo and "Brother Lono" is no exception! If you love 100 Bullets the way I do, this is an absolute must read!

This is a pretty solid little follow-up story for Lono
This is a pretty solid little follow-up story for Lono. Shows how the events of the main series still kind of haunt him.

"...the devil is our savior."
I liked this. Pretty much exactly what I expected. It's not a sequel, it's a spin-off. You could also say that this is sort of an epilogue for Lono after what happened in 100 Bullets. There are some memorable new characters, though they could've used a little more fleshing out. I would have liked to see this series go a little longer than 8 issues. Maybe not 100, but 16 or 20 would've been interesting. They easily could've carried these issues with more background/side stories on the twins', the cartel, the sheriff, June, the priest and more examples of Lono suppressing his killer instincts in confrontational situations. He reminds me a little of Bud from Kill Bill 2. If you know Lono, you know what the story's slow burn is leading towards. For me though, the burn could've actually been a little slower.

Good but perhaps a bit forgettable
Good but perhaps a bit forgettable?HUGE fan of 100 bullets , and don't get me wrong , a great read still, yet it kinda reminds me how much I miss the other minutemen. After the journey of the saga, it's nice to have an epilogue yet, I always found cole and wyle more interesting. But that's just me..Could this be the groundwork for a new set of minutemen?
