Up Close And Personal
Syd Barrett - Up close and personalThis dvd has other people close to Syd tell their story of what happened when knowing Syd in his time spent with pink floyd and his solo projects. One thing that stands great for me was the work of David Gilmour with Syd and how much care he had for Syd. This is a deep explanation of the story of Syd Barrett. The book is very informative but its things i already knew. Still it was good to have. The dvd was not a let down. It shows that Syd was a rebel from his up bringing. Maybe even spoiled as a child. Even though he still got the musical point across. He didn't want to lip sink his music and always wanted to move forward and not repeat the old stuff. The lyrics speak for its self. When he was good, he was bad. His breakdown was brought to my attention a lot more from hearing what his friends at the time were telling their story. Syd seemed to shut out his so called friends in the studio. He may have picked up on their vibe from past and present.

although I must say that there are beautiful pieces of Syd Barrett more psychedelic
See Barrett is always a marvel, but in this dvd you talk too much, although I must say that there are beautiful pieces of Syd Barrett more psychedelic. Unfortunately, on the back of this DVD is written that there are subtitles in German, French, Italian, Spanish, Swedish, but instead there are no subtitles language. Understand how the author of this DVD could write on the back dvd it contains subtitles.

For Die-Hard Syd Fans Only!
I enjoyed the disc and book, although some of the material is also on thePiper At The Gates Of Dawn DVD. Not the place to start for new fans, but aSyd obsessive will appreciate the removal of Roger Waters from the Hans Keller interview, more information on Syd's state of mind at the time he recorded his solo albums, and the absence of the critics and their opinions, which, for such a small body of output, was often redundant andunnecessary and speculative on previous similar discs. What is needed is for a DVD which includes all known Syd footage, free of the talking heads and cutaways, and inclusive of what Pink Floyd have in their archives.

Uno dei migliori documenti su Syd Barrett
Testimonianze interessanti di persone che hanno conosciuto Syd da vicino. Un documento che ogni fan di Barrett dovrebbe avere. Prezzo ottimo. Spedizione un po' lenta.
