Love these sun shades! They do a great job of casting a shade on the pool no matter what time of day it is - the shade just changes with the position of the sun. I will say that it was initially a bit of a challenge getting the first one up. While these are triangles, they are curved and it makes a difference when trying to find a place to tie them off without a dip in the curvature. Took a few tries before we got it right, but in the end it was perfect. Can’t be beat for the money.

I say alternative because the material is like tarp material. It's holding up well and doesn't look to bad. Probably needs to be pulled more tight so it doesn't dip down but overall does the job for shade. If your looking for pretty, this would not be a good solution. If you are looking for shade, pretty descent!Update: ordered this 2 years ago. Live in south Florida. Upgraded to 4 stars. It’s held up well, no one looks at the material closely and everyone compliments on it. I even get asked for referrals. Important to pull it tight. I don’t have mine tilted/twisted, this may be better for rain to fall off better but material allows for rain to go through and only pool in one area (not bad, but can be altered to be better). Best part - no mold which is very common for outdoor anything in south Florida. It still looks new. Only reason why it’s not 5 stars is because the material is like tarp and it’s not nice sunbrella material (which usually looks crappy over time in sofl).

Strung the sail over half the pool and works perfectly! Shades our jacuzzi midday and provides shade later in the day in our outside eating area.Very good buy as we did not want something permanent. Material nice color and looks durable. Has not ripped with winds.

I put this over a section of our yard, over the grass, to provide shade during the day. The claim that it's 20 degrees cooler under the sun shade may actually be true. It certainly feels like it when the sun is blazing and it's pushing 100 F out there.The shade is made from a reasonable material, I don't think I'd want it any heavier simply because of the added weight. The stitching is well done and appears to be robust. It came with metal rings to attach to on the 3 corners, and they are attached to the fabric well.I have no complaints. I wish I had purchased on sooner.

I highly recommend this product. I purchased one of these bad boys on July 31, 2016 and hung it over my pool a few days later. There was no shade over the pool before, so this was a game changer. We can spend hours in the pool and move in/out of the shade as needed without getting burned. Some days, I just hang out under the shade all day. It has been amazing for almost a year and, knock on wood, is still doing its job perfectly with no tears or issues. We have had a lot of rain this year, but it still in great shape. I will likely be purchasing another one to put over a bbq area that we just renovated.

The material ripped at hook area after about 4 months.

Got 2 of these and they have made a world of difference in our hot humid climate. WE are now able to use more of our sunny yard. The color is a yellowish tan so very neutral to go with anything. Bought some metal line and clamps to get them up on Amazon. They have center drip line so water comes through there.
