Softly As I Leave You

Owned this back in the day as prerecorded reel to reel tape album that was in vogue in late 60's/early 70's. Was trying to get away from the ticks and pops of LP's back then and liked the idea of being to play an entire album without having to flip an LP over. Happily CD's came along a decade later to solve those issues. Anyway, Frank's in good voice with pleasant contemporary songs of the period. Purchased recently as essentially a walk down memory lane back to a time when a young bachelor was trying to find more mature music to fill his recording collection.This album being a prime example..

Sinatra is my favorite singer; I think his phrasing is superb and he puts more meaning into the songs than anyone else. I bought this CD especially for the track 'Emily', which is a favorite of mine.

I bought this CO for one particular song..but pleasantly surprised by other great songs !

Quality of the LP was very good. a must have for any Sinatra fan, one of his best.

Been years since I had a copy of this--back when it first came out in vinyl. Some wonderful performances by the master, e.g., Love Isn't Just for the Young, I Can't Believe I'm Losing You, Dear Heart, and the title song.

Only a true survivor such as the "Chairman of the Board" could continue making great music for what seemed like an eternity. From decade to decade he adjusted and was always on his game. This album is just another example of his mastery of his craft.

Such a melody, and with this voice... Superb.

Great CD, like Pass me By which reviewers say is the weak selection. Frank seems to be having a great time with that song
