Bought this string of lanterns recently as I had created a new fire pit and seating area and wanted some pleasant lighting to add to the final effect. I have used string lighting the past, but this time wanted something a little more 'party-like'. The lanterns arrived and, after assembling them, I have them strung across some tree branches and the effect when the sun goes down is really marvellous. They look like delicate paper lanterns but are made from sturdy, but thin translucent plastic giving the paper effect and appear weather resistant. The lantern shades come flattened so you have to pull them out and insert the holder for the light. A bit of force is needed to assemble it to make the shade rigid, and initially I was worried about damaging them, but I needn't have been concerned. The only thing is it's much easier to do if you have small or more delicate fingers and so not easy for blokes, but once you know you can apply a bit of force and get the knack it's fine. There are quite a few lanterns so it takes a little time to fully assemble, so good to do in front of the TV or radio.So far, so good, but I guess only time will tell. I'm reassured by the free 2 year warranty offered which makes me think they are indeed built to last.The warm white glow that they produce, even on a dull day produces a pleasant lighting - enough to see what you are doing and thankfully not glaring: they are mood lights after all! After a few recent dull, rainy days my little lanterns still light up when it gets dark and I can still enjoy them through my window. It just dawned on me that if someone wanted a cool, funky indoor look for say a bedroom or party, these would be ideal for that also.Overall, I'm very pleased with my purchase and would recommend them, especially as they carry a long warranty.

I was overjoyed with these initially, they looked beautiful, worked as long as there was good sun and were a good length. Unfortunately they only lasted a month. When you attached the plastic internal part of the lantern to the wires you pinch it onto the wire to hold it in place, this in turn gives the wire a weak spot. We had strong wind for two days and two out of the three sets I purchased snapped at the weak points after a month of being in place.I have a set which looks exactly the same from somewhere else, but it has a slightly different way of attaching the lantern which is a much better solution, so pay attention to how they attach.

I was very pleased when these arrived and I put them together. The on/off button isn't marked so not sure when they are on and when they are off. However, managed to get them working in our cherry tree with limited sunshine and they have been fine since Christmas. However, 2 days ago there was a strong wind and they have all been ripped off their wires and are now unusable.

Disappointing, very flimsy. Takes ages to put together. Can't see this lasting any length if time outside. Lights stopped working after 8 months . Cannot recommend. Would give 0 starts if I could.

These are so much better than I expected them to be.They are beautiful and very well made wish my garden was bigger and I would buy more.

There were 2 lanterns missing when the product was received. The seller immediately offered a solution. Good product and excellent customer service.
