Luggage Locks TSA Approved 2 Pack - Steel Travel Padlocks for Suitcases & Baggage with Search Alert Indicator

Purchased my Acrodo locks for Int'l travel because heading to a country with a high theft rate. Before the package arrived, I received a nice note from the owner thanking me for my purchase through Amazon. When the box arrived, it was nicely packed in eco friendly cardboard packaging and looked exceptionally nice. Nice enough that I went from thinking of the locks as a basic utility purchase to a a probable holiday gift for my friends who travel internationally on a regular basis. The locks are excellent and of the highest quality. Not only will I purchase again for myself and for my friends, but will watch for the Acrodo name when purchasing anything travel related in the future. By the way, I received a second message from the owner after my locks arrived letting me know who to contact if for any reason I wasn't 100% satisfied. Bottom line - fantastic product from a great company.

I used these locks for the first time last week, and they did a great job. They are solid and sturdy and stayed closed, which is all I really want from a travel lock: to keep the zipper from opening during handling.My only quibble is that *nowhere* in the instructions or videos or other information does it explain how to close and lock the locks. There is no hole into which the shackle engages, which led me to believe I had received a defective set. After several frustrating attempts to deal with customer service, I figured out that to get the lock to engage, you have to move the combination wheels to something other than the combination you set. It's a magnetic lock, not a mechanical lock, so it's not meant to "click" at all. But this is not mentioned *anywhere*, and I had never encountered this type of lock before, so it was quite frustrating until I figured it out.

Easy to use, adjust and operate. These are just like the "Samsonite" branded locks I have owned. Have not traveled with yet so don't know how the TSA lock mechanism and warning will be, but for the price these seem very well made, and as I said are same as other branded locks I have used. They are heavy and a little larger than the old fashioned brass keyed locks I used before. They will likely serve their purpose and are. Enter made than many I have seen at big box stores. Wish they were a little smaller so as not to get caught on carousels or other baggage or aircraft mechanisms.

I was very worried about ordering a lock that I could not set, or that failed. I reasearched extensively and read all reviews and could not find one that people agreed on. Finally, after reading an article on locks, and reading the reviews I settled on this one. I was worried that the print would be too small for me to read. I had PRK surgery last year and have trouble with small writing now. Let me assure you that the instructions were EASY to read and follow, plus there were pictures. I also read that some locks have issues with being able to see the numbers. I can see these numbers perfectly even with out reading glasses. Finally, in many reviews people ordered 4 locks and only 3 worked. I ordered 4 locks and all 4 are working perfectly. I am very happy that I ordered these.

A little difficult to re-set the open-alert feature, but this feature was key in my purchase decision. These little locks are secure and I hope they will survive my upcoming travels. I had a great lock previously, but the TSA "forgot" to put it back on after opening my suitcase. I love the great price for the 2-pack!Update: Just returned from my first trip with this lock. The TSA opened my bag, as I could tell by the Inspection Alert (they didn't leave the required notification inside my suitcase). Unfortunately, I am unable to re-set the Inspection Alert, which is the only reason I bought this specific lock. If I want a lock without Inspection Alert, there are many cheaper alternatives. Very disappointed, but hoping the other lock will work better than the 1 I just discarded.

I'll start with saying I was really impressed with their packaging. Nicely packaged in a box where the lock sits down into a slot. These are definitely heavy duty - much better than some I've tried which seem like they would break easily. Setting the code was a snap. They include directions that you can actually read and understand. Had a bit of a problem with one of the locks and they were super quick to respond, send me a replacement, and follow up. I can't say I've seen that kind of customer service in quite some time. I would highly recommend this company and this lock. I don't think you'll be disappointed.

I followed the directions to changed the combination to my own numbers. Both locks were changed and working well. Two weeks later, when preparing for vacation one lock now will not open. One still works. I wrote the numbers inside the box so I know it is not me forgetting the combo. Looks like I wasted money on one lock by buying the pair.

The lock is pretty good. It is all metal. It's a bit bulky compared to others. The thickness of the body at its widest point is about 15 mm.The locking post is about 2.5 to 3.0 mm in width.The locking post does not recede into the lock body when locked, it just rests in a fairly shallow "pool" area which is about 2 mm deep.The "lock has been opened indicator" is a good concept although anyone with a paperclip can reset it.I believe (but have not confirmed) the TSA leaves a card inside opened bags, so that is perhaps a more reliable indicator of an opened bag?I noticed there are a lot of 5 star reviews who state they were compensated. The company included a card in my package which stated you would be eligible for a lucky draw gift card if you left 5 stars. I received a followup email asking for a 5 star review and indicating that a 4 star review is consider a negative review by Amazon. I think the Acrodo TSA lock is a decent value.
