Powerful! More than a 5-Star rating! One of the greatest books ever written about Churchill, World War II and the man who was Churchill's choice to lead all Allied Forces in Europe - Field-Marshal Lord Alanbrooke. Anyone who appreciates history, biography and superb writing must read this book.

Alanbrook as C.I.G.S. was a strategist of genius who kept Churchill on track in WW2.
Excellent overview of Alanbrook's critical role as Chief of the Imperial General Staff following his return from Dunkirk and the rescue of the BEF.

Good condition book with one issue
This book is in great condition and I'm happy with it. There is however one issue hence 4 stars not five. The advertising photo shows a dust jacket, it came without and has a shop sticker on the spine, so I assume it never did have a cover which is a shame.Overall satisfied / happy but not 5 star happy.
