Question 1

does this provide 30W per port i.e total 120W at a time?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you get the full PoE+ 802.3at voltage across all 4 ports simultaneously.

Question 2

I need to power a wireless access point that draws 12V and 1 amp. Will the injector output damage the access point?

Accepted Answer

Dear K!
Thanks for your interest in TRENDnet!

Our TRENDnet PoE Injector and meets the PoE standards listed below.
802.3af – PoE 15.4 watts
802.3at – PoE+ 30 watts

In order for other devices to be powered by our injectors. The devices must also meet one of these standards in order to get power. These standard are also called active PoE because the voltage will change in the device being powered in the range of voltage PoE provided in the standard.

Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, you can always respond directly to this thread and someone will be happy to try and help answer any additional questions you may have!

Will this work with 12v Cameras and if not do you have one that will?

Only if your camera is a POE/POE+ rated unit. If not you need a 12v power supply

Question 4

I have 3 access points devices [ 2 x 24v , 1 x 48v ] will be ok with this injector?.

Accepted Answer

Dear Konstantinakos!
Thanks for your interest in TRENDnet!
TRENDnet PoE Injectors and switches meets some or all the PoE standards listed below.
802.3af – PoE 15.4 watts
802.3at – PoE+ 30 watts
802.3bt – PoE++ or 4PPoE 60 – 100 watts

In order for other devices to be powered by our switches or injectors. The devices must also meet one of these standards in order to get power. These standards are also called active PoE because the voltage will change in the device being powered in the range of voltage PoE provided in the standard.

Passive PoE devices are a set voltage in PoE. This is not the voltage a camera, phone, access point, etc. get from the power adaptor. (Example: TRENDnet sell cameras that use a 12v power adaptor, but those cameras are also PoE standard.) It is a set voltage from the PoE, if this is the case TRENDnet injectors or switches will not work. (Exception of our point-to-point access points). Typically, if someone ask for something like 24v or 48v of PoE it’s a passive device.

Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, you can always respond directly to this thread, and someone will be happy to try and help answer any additional questions you may have!

Have a great day!
