A Late Dinner: Discovering the Food of Spain

Rekindled my love of Spain and morcilla
I was delighted to stumble upon this after enjoying one of the author’s newspaper articles last month. Wonderful taste of Spanish cuisine, the author is knowledgeable and has some lovely insights into the country. His bio is also fascinating, great to hear that you are living in a farm out there with Nacho. I hope to do something similar following this great book. I have already tried a few of the recipes mentioned, such as the simple and delicious Ajo Blanco.I was saddened to see there are some silly chavals leaving bad reviews below. Fyi: They don’t make any valid comments and are written by mad folk (possible Trump voters) - one of whom is offended because this book makes it clear to him that pork/beef used to be a living animal thereby making him feel uncomfortable! The other writes our ear off about his Scotch heritage (why? Please just discuss the book...) people of that ilk would be better off not reading books.Rant aside: this book has been an absolute pleasure to read and reignited my love of Spain. Ill go there once covid allows!

Lovely Book.
This book was invaluable when setting out on our travels in Motorhome for weeks on end exploring Spain and discovering new foods. A real comfort book. I must go back to it a relive the experiences. 10 years ago now.

A must read if you love food and/or Spain.
Bought this when I went travelling around Spain. Fabulous read, really interesting insights into Spanish food, cuisine, the people and the places. Read it 3 times and now use it as a reference book when travelling. He's very secretive about Caceres and if you ever go there you will understand why (He's keeping it to himself 😉.)

A classic gastronomic delight!
This book is a must for everyone who wants to find out the stories behind the regional food of Spain. This book is so well written and researched - a joy to savour each page. I am keeping this book on my bookshelf and am planning my trips to San Sebastian and the Basque country as a direct result. This work is of such high quality. Thank you Mr Richardson for such a fine book.

Summer indulgence on the porch
I think Anthony would have liked this one. Rich and mesmerizing, best read in the evening with a nice drink on the rocks.
