I was skeptical of this gas cap because of the low cost, but I am pleased with purchase.

Wrong size , not even close to the size.They said it would fit on a 6 horse Bridge and Stratton but it 1/2 the Diameter of the original.

I misread the engine HP rating and this cap is for a push type mower, I needed one for a 15 HP riding mower.Nice, well made, solid feel. I'm keeping it for a spare for my push mover/weed eater/etc.

I bought this to replace a broken Fresh Start cap on my Craftsman 6.5 hp mower. It’s too soon to speak to durability but the cap was a perfect fit and I was able to tighten it securely on the tank.

The cap itself is fine. It just does not do what I wanted, which was to replace a fuel tank cap on a small engine. I searched using the B&S part number, and this came up. It is too small. It fits one spare gas can, but no fuel tank.Be careful purchasing on line.I do not know how to rate the cap. If it does what you need it is an adequate product.

I have a Craftsman mower model # 917.387680 and the original gas cap leaked; its inner lining cracked due to overtightening. I found this Stens gas cap and ordered it even though my specific mower wasn't listed as a fit. I'm glad I ordered it, as it threads on fine and does its job. It doesn't screw as far down as the original cap so I'll have to keep a closer eye on it in case it ever vibrates loose.There is no inner lining on this cap; it's one-piece plastic with a wide aluminum cone attached inside at the top. Some others mentioned the cone breaking off, or the cap causing their mower to stall if they screwed it on tightly, but I have not experienced either of these issues. Overall a great value.

This is the perfect replacement for the original fuel cap on my 2008 Craftsman (Husqvarna made) lawnmower. The engine is a Briggs &Stratton with a fuel cap that could originally accomodate a fuel preserving stabiliser capsule. Simply use premium fuel without Ethanol and you should never have bad fuel issues. The only thing i am missing is the small plastic cord that prevented the fuel cap from falling on the ground when refueling my lawnmower. For under 10$, this is a great replacement fuel cap. It was very hard to find it locally in the big box stores.*Update November 2022, before storing the lawnmower for the winter, I realized that the fuel cap inner gasket came undone from the cap. Fuel cap wouldn’t be leak proof anymore. There was no way to place ghe gasket back where it should go, trust me, i tried very hard. After contacting the seller, they FULLY stand behind their product and send me a replacement cap. Don’t hesitate to buy from this seller, they are trustworthy*.

My mother phoned me up all upset. She was cutting the grass and lost her gas cap. I am 5 hours away so I had her measure the opening for me. She has a craftsman mower but I think the engine is a B&S. I found this cap, ordered it and had it sent to her. She got it 2 days later (that is pretty amazing considering where she is located). The cap fits perfectly and she is now very happy and thinks I am a genius.
