Gripping with much that I'd different to the movie.
The film works as there is a short time to tell a story and it uses creative license to put forward points. The book however is far more interesting and is written from Frank Lucas's perspective. The level of corruption and hypocrisy described in relation to the police and other members of straight society made me question who the real criminals were.I think this biography is ideal for a television series. What really happened on some issues is still hotly debated but the book ends with the right message, the taking and selling of drugs destroys life's.

Fantastic Book
Really enjoyed reading this book and couldn’t put it down. I remember watching American Gangster but didn’t know who Frank Lucas was at the time but now I do. I’m glad he has shared his story.

Absolutely Riveting Read
Gripping story made all the more incredible because it’s true. Charting the rise of Frank Lucas from a poor southern black boy to one of the most richest and powerful men in New York.

Hardly anything is revealed in this book, If you wan't to hear all about cars , women, money and the finer things in life than this is the book for you If you want to read a gangster tell all than forget about it.Lucas say's he was taught by his mentor not to bring the street home .Looks like he didnt bring much of the street to this book.
