Firewing (The Silverwing Trilogy) Paperback – March 25, 2008

We totally loved all your books but Firewing stood out the most. We could tell it was based on the Aztecs and it was very religious.Our fourth grade teacher was concerned about us reading Firewing because it was too violent but that did not stop us. Here are some words from your biggest fans.I loved your book. I thought your book was incredibly outsanding. It is so detailed and inspiring to open up and share how I felt about it. Well, you are writing more books but it's not about Shade,Luna,Griffen,and Marina. They are great characters, how did you come up with the names? It's really cool. Now here's one more of your biggest fans. You make some of the best books in the world to me. I would really like you to make another book so then we can find out what happens to Goth and to Griffen and Luna. Well, just to start this was a amazing series and it almost breaks my heart to see it come to an end. It really got me to connect to all of the characters and understand what they are going through the and longing for what they would long for. For Firewing, it was a great and heroic ending. I wish not to spoil it but any father would have done the same for their son.I really did enjoy this book, part of me hopes this is not the end of the Story of Shade, Griffin, and Marina. But it was a Nobel ending even though there is a slight cliff-hanger that left me wondering.Overall a great book, it earned the five stars and is a definite read, just be ready for a awe inspiring journey.

This was a gift for my grand daughter who is passionately in love with these stories! I would guess that she is loving this one too.

I have read all the books in this series except the last and I can't wait to read it this book was the best is was my favorite book I didn't want it to end,,!!!!!!!!<3=)))

Firewing continues the saga of the Silverwing colony, focusing on Griffin, son of the hero in its prequels, Shade.At first glance he'd almost seem like the opposite of his father, a trait made worse considering everyone else in the colony continually reminds him of the feats his father did (likely without knowing Shade was a loner at first, too). As luck would have it, the one time he attempts to try something "brave" the young bat inadvertently starts a chain of events that pull him directly into the Underworld, where Cama Zotz (Goth's god) reigns. Naturally, when Shade finds out he despirately follows, hoping to rescue his son before Griffin ends up a permanent resident in the land of the dead.Following the trend began with its predecessor, Sunwing, Firewing is a darker tale yet still has the thrills and creative characters the series is known for. The story kept me gripping the cover the entire time and was brilliantly-written.I will admit, however, that while the ending wasn't BAD, it wasn't as satisfying as I'd hoped. It felt rushed and left untied one too many (ominous) loose ends, one of which threatened to undo the events of its prequel.Having said that, Firewing is still a great story to go with the Silverwing series. Despite the "completeness" associated with so many trilogies out there, I do hope that there might be another Silverwing novel in the future, if only to show what happens to those afore-mentioned loose ends...

Good read from the trilogy. My daughter liked it.

My boys loved the series and I enjoyed it as well. Good family reading.

My granddaughter asked for the series for Christmas. She was thrilled to get it and is already well into reading all of them.
