Love the book and great patterns - will be endlessly useful

Some lovely patterns suitable for a wide range of ages. Must stress that the sizes available are around a UK size 10-14 or maybe 16.

Excellent item with loads of good ideas.Just need the time to be able to start making some of the garments.Interesting ideas

A good collection of easy practical sewing projects. I would say particularly so if you are young and looking for a first sew set of garments that are interchangeable.

First things first. 1.You have to trace off the relevant pieces for the items you want to make. 2. Although most items are really loose fitting, i think some would have to be adjusted for larger than a 14/16.However, the designs are fabulous and the instructions clear and well pictured and explained. The clothes are really nicely detailwd and the accessories are also worth looking at. I found this book really inspirational and I am looking forward to making something from it.

Like this style of pattern. Haven’t made any as yet but they look good.

Loved the clear photographic instructions. You might need to size up for larger sizes. Some of the instructions and images are cross numbered but it's not too difficult to work out.

These patterns are very cute and looking forward to making them up. The individual patterns could easily be varied by using different fabrics and colors. Word of caution, the patterns themselves came rubber cemented to the inside of the front and back cover; not in an envelope like some other Japanese pattern books.. You should very slowly pull the patterns off the cover. I had only a slight problem with the front set of patterns, but the back cover patterns were stuck on tighter and I got two small tears because the glue pulled on the pattern. I fixed them with transparent tape..

Wieder mal ein super Buch von Yuko Katayama.Leider ist es nur in englischer Sprache zu kaufen.Es lässt sich aber leicht mit einem Handy oder Tablett per Sprachübersetzung mit der Kamera übersetzen und dann kann man fast alles in deutscher Sprache nachlesen.Siehe Bild als Beispiele.Die Übersetzungsapp gibt es auf jedem Handy egal ob Apple oder Android, einfach starten, auf Kamera umstellen und über den die Seite halten. Übersetzte Seiten kann man dann speichern.Wie bei Yuko Katayama üblich sind die Modelle meist auf einige Grundschnitte bezogen, die jeweils leicht abgewandelt werden. Alles ist per Bilder und Text sehr verständlich erklärt.Bei den Größen die eigenen Maße beachten, dann erst die Größe aus dem Buch wählen.Die angegebenen Größen sind auf Asiaten ausgelegt, die ja bekanntlich etwas kleiner sind als Europäer.Hat man seine Größe gefunden einfach loslegen.

This book is surprisingly great! I have tons of these little pattern books in untranslated Japanese so when I see an english translated one I have to get it!My question is always about the size chart. Asian sizes are much smaller than American ones so please see my photo of the size chart inside this book. Most of these designs look quite oversized so if you don't mind a smaller fit than the photos, you should be OK if you're a little off the size chart.Something I also do if I need to size the pattern up a bit -- you can guesstimate where the lines would be for one or two sizes larger when you're tracing. Draw the corners of the pattern pieces in the two or three largest sizes, then draw new corners out where you want them, then move your paper so you can trace the in-between lines. Use a French curve to finish the spaces in between. Hard to describe here but it works!
