Exceeds expectations.
This case meets or exceeds expectations. Passes the sniff test for odors. It is very sturdily built and stitched very nice. I could not find any imperfections upon very close inspection. The latches are well placed and work really smoothly. I'm so glad I did not try to save a few dollars going to a cheaper case. A surprise was the three lugs on the bottom of the case to prevent scratching when set down and opened. It also has two lugs on the set down side. Good thinking. The interior pieces are held in with screws instead of rivets. This fits my Jameson banjo perfectly. The padding on the inside is well placed with a "hump" on the string side at the neck and bridge , approximately four inches by eight inches and eight inches square, respectively. There is also a strap between the cover and base to keep it from flopping open. I would feel comfortable placing a much more expensive banjo securely in the case for traveling locally. I don't expect to travel by air with this. So much nicer than my other banjo case. This is a good value for the money.

Carrion C-2901 Banjo Case ($52.86)
I was very happy when this little number arrived 3 days before it was supposed too (I have no idea why it did). Upon first inspection the case is lighter than I would have like, although combined with the banjo its pretty hefty (note: I have to take six flights of stairs). The hinges are surprisingly sturdy as is the handle, which upon discovery brought me significant joy. There are three latches, presumably steel, which run around the outer front of the case. I don't know why but I would have preferred four, just personal preference I suppose. Their is a lock on the middle latch although I wouldn't put your life savings in the case because its mostly for show, keep people from knocking off your tuning and all that. My banjo is approximately 39",14",5.5" (L,W,H) or 99.06,35.56,13.97 in centimeters which makes it a bit on the thin side. As a result of this my banjo tends to "sit", if you will, while the case is on the ground and "lean" when I pick it up. If you were to lift the case to quickly you might knock it around but if you stuff an old rag in there it will be good. Theirs also a storage bin in the case which I found delightful. I currently have a case of picks in there as well as a box of strings, tuner, notes, cloth (for cleaning strings), a mute (clothespin), a flask, and a partridge in a pear tree just kidding. My final assessment of this case is that it lives up to, if not exceeds the standards for a case of this price (at time of purchase $52.86). It's been about a month since my purchase and every things held up nicely.Pros:--Sturdy handle--Sturdy hinges--Support strap (keeps the lid from moving)--Superb storage bin--Soft interior clothCons:--Too many "s"'s in the Pros sectionFinal Remarks: I would fully recommend that you purchase this case for your banjo. It is well crafted, affordable, and a sound investment in the life of your banjo. Thanks for reading, Long live consumers.

Couldn’t ask for better
Very nice case inside and out. It’s very sturdy, handle is ergonomic and is properly placed for good balance so is comfortable for carrying. Inside is lined for good protection, the storage pocket is large. I have a container (originally for sunglasses) with multiple sets of picks and a microfiber cloth in there and there is still plenty of room. My strap comes off and lays in the space beneath the neck. It has a keyed locking clip. Though I’m sure could be easily broken or picked, would also be a good deterrent. I’m very pleased with this case and would definitely recommend.

Very good case for the price
I paid less than 60 dollars shipped for this case and I was very happy with it. I play a Fender FB58 and it fits snugly inside. When I say snugly, I mean it in a positive way since I would prefer that the padding inside hug my resonator rather than to let it jiggle about when I'm walking. There is some additional space up top if you have a longer headstock. The overall quality is good, but I probably wouldn't check it on an airplane, nor would I stack much on top of it. The wood is sturdy, but there is some obvious flex if you put too much pressure on it. As a musician, it should go without saying that you respect your instrument and don't assume that a case is going to save it from your abuse...but I also understand the primitive logistics of touring. Just be carefulMine arrived very quickly in a cardboard box that seemed...well, improvised. It was not damaged, but there were some spots that looked like a bird had pooped adhesive on it. I took a rag to it and made short work of the stain.Overall I'm very pleased with this case. I will mostly be using it around the house or when I need to transport my banjo to a studio session or someone's house. Day to day use, it seems ideal. If I end up taking this particular instrument on any extended tour (bus, plane, or otherwise) I will invest in a more robust travel case.

Pro quality and protection for a good price
I bought a five string Jameson banjo back in January. This case fits it perfectly. There's even a place for supplies such as picks, tuners, etc. The lining feels great. The construction is great quality for the price point.

Nice inexpensive hardshell case.
I bought this for my openback banjo and noticed that it fits well if you just place a little towel underneath the banjo for extra snugness. The banjo will not shake around. This case is amazing quality for the price. It is hard to find a hardcase that fits openback banjos that are inexpensive. As I said, you need to put a little towel underneath , but for this price its worth it. I tried buying a case for openback banjo costing $90.00 and it was too short in length so I returned it. I ordered this one because a student of mine brought it to class and she had a banjo with resonator. When I tried to fit my openback in it, I found that it fit well, but better with a little packing of some kind. So, I ordered it and I like it. Honestly, I think this is trimmer than other cases out there for resonator banjos. I am not sure how it would be if a huge resonator banjo would work.
