Hartz Oinkies Smoked Pig Skin Bacon Flavored Wrap Dog Treat Chews - 8 Pack

I've bought these in the past many times as my dogs enjoy them and it keeps them busy for a little while. That is the only reason I gave a 2 star and no. a 1 star. This last order I received was very surprising and disgusting. Almost half of the chews looked "dirty/dusty" from black mold. The pictures above are 3 different chews I took photos of. I requested a refund as I do not feel comfortable giving my dogs moldy treats and don't believe I will be ordering these again in the future.

DO NOT BUY THESE!!CAUTION!We started to give these “treats” to our dog and initially he loved them. However shortly after he started eating these he became quite sick. Turns out there is a rather large amount of BLACK MOLD inside these things. It was hard to narrow down since it’s so far inside the twist of these. Had to cut it open with a kitchen knife. After the vet suggested it was something to do with diet we got very strict on what he consumed. Cutting into these provided the answer. No he is no longer eating them and has since stopped being sick.Amazon, I’ll be in touch.

I don’t know what was wrong with this particular product, as I’ve given my 3.5 year old golden retriever oinkies before without any issues. But this particular bag caused him to vomit about 3 days after eating a treat. We took him to the vet the first time and they couldn’t find any reason for him to be sick. The second time I knew it was the oinky because it was the second time he got sick a few days after eating the treat.

I've given my pets many treats over the years. When I found Oinkies a long time ago I was surprised that it was a natural chew. Most items on the market at the time and many currently contain a lot of additives. Currently we have 3 dogs: A GSD, toy chihuahua and toy chihuahua/rat terrier mix. All of them are head over heels for these treats. Our largest dog can demolish them in about 10 minutes or so while the small ones can take a couple days. When we brought home our GSD at 8 weeks he grew fast and went through a massive teething phase. In order to teach him what was good to chew and what wasn't we used a few things and Oinkies were one of them. He quickly took to them and hasn't chewed anything which isn't food/treats since. Our oldest small dog is currently 13 years old and going strong. He has lost a few teeth and is 8 pounds soaking wet so we do have to get him the softer version or he pesters the GSD to soften one up for him. Their favorites seem to be the bacon or sausage flavors. All of them go through phases of taking and enjoying them to just leaving them laying around untouched. It has more to do with mental stimulation and wanting variety rather than disliking the product as a whole. I do wish that my local pet store would have more of a selection when it comes to this product but Amazon seems to always have them and at a very competitive price.I have purchased many, many bags of these without issue and would buy them again. I do suggest always thoroughly checking any product you give your pets not just for ingredients but quality. Some have reported mold but I haven't had an issue in all of the years I have bought them. I have had mold/quality issues with other treat products though which has made me very wary of giving out treats. Also, supervise your pet at all times. While a product can seem pretty safe, consistently watching our pets has given us early warnings for issues and we can make sure no one gobbles and chokes.

I normally get these at my local store however I decided to order on Amazon because they were a bit cheaper. For some reason my dog will not eat/chew and snubs her nose up when I give her one of these. I’m not sure if they change the ingredients or what but it was quite peculiar that she just won’t have anything to do with the oinkies that I ordered from Amazon.She’s never choked on these, but she has on the typical regular rawhides and that is why I switched to this kind. I always recommend to supervise when giving any kind of chew toys to your fur babies :)

My golden retriever loves chewing on tasty treats and I thought I'd try these since they are less expensive than her favorites, bully sticks and Starmark everlasting treats.She didn't seem eager to chew on it when it was first given to her but she did eventually slowly consume it. No issues noted at that time. A few days later she took another one and seemed a bit more interested in it and consumed it in its entirety. But, I noticed evidence the next morning that she had vomited in her bed overnight. There where pieces of the oinkie treat left in her crate.Not knowing for sure that it was the treat that made her ill (and not wanting to just assume), I offered her another one a few days later. She refused to take it outright. I tried again a couple of days after that and she again refused to take it. I'm going to assume that the oinkies made her ill and she has made that connection.

My two Boxers are 'chewers' of many things...but not shoes or household items. I try to keep a supply of what I call 'chewies' on hand so they can keep on chewing...keep on chewing.They both like these and I believe the bacon smell is attractive to them. They don't last too long...maybe 3 hours at the most. The price for these is competitive to others on the market.Will definitely buy these again.Highly recommended.

I have trouble finding items that my dog really likes. She eats her dog food only when she's hungry and not because she likes it. She used to like dental sticks but just carries them around now and does not eat them. I have tried her on different flavors of Oinkies and she likes this one the best. She does not like peanut butter at all and will chew the originals eventually but she really likes these wrapped with chicken. Needless to say, it is a Subscribe & Save item for me and I receive two packs a month.

These cost more money than we usually spend on dog treats but decided to buy them for our 3 dogs as a treat.We have 2 large dogs & 1 medium. These sticks really last and all 3 love them. The smallest dog hid hers so the other 2 couldn’t take it from her!

Lasted awhile and all the dogs like them so that’s a plus

My dog usually goes through expensive chew treats as fast as cookies. At least these took 10 minutes or so to finish!

When our vet said that rawhide was not good for them, we looked around for a chewie that they would like and be better for them. This is it!!

Excellent product. Favourite of my dog. But it was more expensive like use to.
