Although the salt was pricey, it was delivered in very timely manner and was just what the Hawaiian recipes needed.

This salt seems to absorb any type of moisture around it, even when in a glass salt mill. The grain is more "fine" rather than medium. It does not work well in my salt mill, even though the mill is ceramic [and new]. Will not buy this again, rather will buy one I purchased earlier.

I just wanted a unique salt for my grinder and thought a red salt would be kind of cool. Wow, the taste of this salt is out of this world. I mean, you'd think it's just salt right? What can you write about salt. But it is definitely not like other salts - this stuff has flavor!

This salt's unique flavor isn't as intense as the unique flavors of the many other sea salts I have tried. I therefore think this salt is strictly a finishing salt. It's nice earthy flavor will add a certain something when sprinkled on top of a dish, but not when mixed within a dish.

We had some Hawaiin salt on some bread at a restaurant in Disney World that we just loved, and wanted to have some at home so we ordered this. It's not exactly the same, but it is really good.

Grew up with this salt.. wonderful for finishing any dish.. nice earthy finish on your tongue because of the infusion of alae clay.

Alae salt is sea salt plus red volcanic clay. I grind it to a powder, put it in a shaker, and use much less salt. Say hello to low sodium. Also check out slack key hawaiin guitar music.
