Dorman W41719 Front Passenger Side Drum Brake Wheel Cylinder Compatible with Select Models

Buying wheel cylinders for my '65 F100 proved difficult. Having the twin I-beam setup and kingpins means that the brake hose and the wheel cylinder port must be angled in a specific way. This wheel cylinder and the matching one for the opposite side WILL fit a ford with the twin I-beam with some modification. Just a little bit must be shaved from the top (above the bleeder and mounting holes) to make it fit in the backing plate. Alternatively, you may grind the backing plate. There are also two tabs that must be removed from the backing plate.While these modifications are not ideal, other wheel cylinders will not fit the twin I-beam due to their outlet port orientation. I wish the aftermarket could make wheel cylinders specifically for the twin I-beam setup, but they are getting hard to come by.All in all, this is a great, cheap option for wheel cylinders on a twin I-beam suspension. They are typical quality, but they will fit with little modification. You will see the top of the cylinder has three small humps. The humps must be shaven down on the side facing the backing plate.
