Dataproducts DPC03P Remanufactured Toner Cartridge Replacement for HP C3903A

I've used aftermarket toners for my old HP LaserJet 5P (22 years and still soldiering on!) and have had mixed results. The first one I used was OK. The second one started leaking toner about halfway through and I had to pitch it.This one I didn't know anything about but it was so competitively priced compared to the OEM one, that I had to give it a shot. And so far it is working. I print on label sheets and regular paper and haven't had any issues yet, but the cartridge is still new.I'll update the review if it breaks prematurely.

The cartridge is excellent! The print quality on my LaserJet 5P is just as good as a brand-new genuine HP cartridge. The print density is even and the black level is very black. There are no residual images, smudges, spots, or other quality problems. I am very impressed with this cartridge!I printed the LaserJet 5P test page with both my worn-out genuine HP cartridge and my new DataProducts cartridge. As you can see, the old one has a very uneven print density (which is typical of such an old cartridge). I have attached 600dpi scans of both test pages in addition to a side-by-side comparison of the “5P”.

As I shook up the cartridge prior to putting it in the printer, toner powder leaked out of the cartridge on my hands and all over the floor. Unfortunately, I didn't notice at the time as the floor is dark and it was evening with a low light on. Only after I went into the kitchen and noticed that my hands were covered with powder and required washing did I go back, turn up the light and realize what mess I had made on the floor. How much of the powder was lost I do not know. Unfortunately, I had a project I had to get done, so I was unable to send the cartridge back. But, next time I imagine I will look for another source.

I've been putting up with horrible prints from my old laser jet for a couple of years. Now I learn it was the other toner cartridges that I had been using. I don't remember the brand (or where it was made) but not only were the prints terrible but it also dumped black ink everywhere each time you moved it.I was pleased to find this supplier and will be using them from now on.

I've only been using the new printer cartridge a few days, but all the printouts look great. The cartridge looked new and was packaged very nice. I have purchased Dataproducts cartridges for this printer in the past, never any problems. My HP printer (Laserjet 5MP) is 25 years old, old and slow technology, but still kicking.

Works fine. Made my old printer work like new. Couldn't find a replacement cartridge anyplace else. So I tried Amazon. Got my printer working like new in just a few minutes.

My printer was double printing. This remanufactured cartridge corrected the problem.

I received a run out, open box cartridge. The inner plastic bag was torn open and the cartridge doesn't work. I appear it is out of toner. Returning it will cost me too much, so I'll look somewhere else. Draw your own conclusion about the quality of this business.
