What happened Michael Griffo!!!
His first two books were good, not great, but entertaining enough for me to read on. I had high hopes for the third book thinking it could only get better. I am not at all implying this book was bad, but it could've been better, maybe less descriptive. I felt some chapters, characters and storylines were unnecessary and daunting. The story dragged and worst of all it failed to focus on Michael and Ronan. Of course, they were involved, but not nearly as much as in the previous books. The author also has a tendency to focus on occasions that don't seem important, or are just plain boring. Not to mention he goes into great detail with them which makes it more painful to endure. There were times I wanted to throw the book out the window, but I hate not finishing a novel. But enough with the negativity. Regardless of the fact the story dragged, seeming eternal, I continued to enjoy his writing Style. Michael Griffo has a way with words and description that I can't help but learn from. All in all, I recommend you read his first two books. Not only would that make sense since this is a series, but you'll enjoy them more...but I warn you, prepare yourself for the third one...

Not as good as the first one.
I was kind of disappointed. Too many characters and some just got left out completely and popping up here and there just to remind you that they're not dead yet and I don't really care for the taboo story line either (spoiler alert) how Michael's dad ended up with Ronan's mom. I felt like I was reading a totally different book sometimes. I really wish it was as good as the first one.

Engaging fantasy
this 3 book series was, (for one hooked on AnnRice many years ago) a most enjoyable read, if you like vampire stories this one is not only about sucking blood - although part of any vampire story- but about insightful relationships between children and parents.

A good conclusion to the trilogy
I enjoyed reading these books and the characters were mostly engaging and interesting. Sometimes the cliche was rich, but it worked. The idea of a different type of vampire was fresh and creative and was daring considering old lore had Dracula unable to cross moving water on his own in the Christopher Lee movies. Its a quick and engaging read.

Good series, fair warning it is a gay series
Good series, fair warning it is a gay series. Im not gay myself, I just think they're hot together. There isn't any really intimate scences, u know what I'm talking bout. Its more of a drama romance kinda series.

Some issues with the editing but Michael Griffo is one ...
Some issues with the editing but Michael Griffo is one of few (like, what, less than 10) authors who know how to write MM intimacy correctly. He should write more. NOW!
