Comment on Climate Change - the FactsThis is a collection of essays and the quality of the work varies but on the whole a consistent picture emerges.I was disappointed that more attention was not paid to 'following the money' to reveal who are the winners and losers in this high staked game.The root issues that have haunted the scientific programme are the problems of induction and explanation. Our attempts to gain full understanding of the phenomena of interest are thwarted by our necessarily limited access to empirical data and we feel compelled to offer explanations and even twist the data to fit them.Climate change, now officially synonymous with anthropogenic global warming, is a new industry, perhaps more properly described as a new religion with its own definitions of good and evil and its own prescriptions of behaviour for individuals, communities and nation states. It is sustained by appeals to sentiment, guilt and fear and it is backed by seriously Big Money. Its inquisitors are the NGOs; agents of the UN aiming at world Government.Climate change is a convenient vehicle but is by no means the only show in town. When climate change is discredited and forgotten, other vehicles will be invented to keep the show on the road. But there will be terrible costs. The Academies will be revealed as self-serving and ruthless parasites on the public purse. The extolling of the wisdom of expert elites will be revealed as a sham and the fragile structure of civilised life as we have enjoyed it since the Enlightenment will be shaken if not demolished. This book has little to offer on any of these aspects of climate change; more is the pity.Despite these lacunae it is a good read and fills in many gaps in understanding this weird social phenomenon. What it fails to address is the terrible advice offered by one leader of climate science "we should ask not what we can do for climate science but what climate science can do for us and individuals and for our institutions".

This book has been a revelation. For decades we have been bombarded with the 'evidence' that Anthropomorphic Global Warming is going to change our climate beyond all recognition. The discerning 'superior' Cognescenti have looked down their well funded research noses at anyone who had the temerity to challenge the 'perceived wisdom' and the dire warnings of global catastrophe that would follow if we didn't accept the 'settled science'.Eminent scientists who questioned the data, methodology and computer modelling used to force this mantra down our throats were ridiculed, vilified and labelled as 'deniers'. The poor public, who have been led by the nose to accept Cape & Trade, increased fuel costs, putting many in fuel poverty, and green taxes to fund the 'green agenda', have been sold down the river.Well the chicken has well and truly come home to roost. Apart from the fact that there has been no discernible warming for the last seventeen years, this book, using the same detailed data that these 'experts' used, have published peer reviewed reports and papers that many said never existed, have systematically and authoritatively debunked almost all of the pronouncements that is now called 'Climate Change'. This whole scientific sleight of hand, on which our current clamour for carbon reduction, desecration of our countryside and the green energy is based, has been shown to be pure speculation not borne out by the climate facts. For nearly twenty years there has been no discernible or significant increase in global temperature, no increase in frequency or strength of hurricanes or storms, no increases in drought or flooding, no rising sea levels, no catastrophic ice reductions. In fact none of the worst twenty doom laden predictions, have come to fruition. Not only has the main scientific institutions been found wanting, but their efforts to hide the true results from the public have bordered on criminality. Not only have they destroyed the reputations of countless scientists who dared to challenge the figures and methods, but they have brought the whole concept of balanced, observable, evidence based scientific research into disrepute. One major statement from this book sums it up nicely 'Climate change catastrophism is the biggest scientific fraud that has ever occurred. Much climate ‘science’ is political ideology dressed up as science.'For anyone who still has an open mind about the whole issue of Global Warming, or as it is now euphemistically called Climate Change, this book is a must read. Whether you are convinced of the 'settled science' or remain a sceptic in the face of the near religious acceptance of Anthropomorphic Global Warming this book will make you think again and put the whole debate into perspective. None of the scientists or contributors to this book have anything to gain by publishing these facts. However, for me, my faith has been restored that there are scientists out there who are prepared to be counted in the face of overwhelming odds, who have maintained their balanced and open-minded approach to their research, and are willing to let the public decide for themselves where the truth lies without bias or hidden agenda. Objective and a good read. Comprehensively covers the many different areas of justifiable skepticism. Well backed up with many references

This is one of the clearest accounts I have seen that exposes the monumental folly of the West's surrender of its economic future to the dictates of the Green (crypto-Marxist) anti-business lobby. And not only the economic future but also the once beautiful countrysides now ravaged by very large, hideous and mostly useless contraptions. As one of the contributing authors has remarked, 'the idea that we should be spending hundreds of billions of dollars and hamstringing the economy of the entire world to reduce carbon dioxide emissions is beyond ludicrous in light of known facts it is insane.The only problem is that the people who should be reading this book are very unlikely to do so. The legislators have little scientific knowledge or training and have accepted the fraudulent science propagated by the IPCC. It will take decades for the public to realize the truth that the climate is not behaving in the way the 'experts' with their computer models predict and that we have been spending untold billions for no good reason at all. If just a few of our politicians and opinion formers like the BBC or Sky News were introduced to reality via this book it would help to end our present march of folly.

Somewhat over optimistic view

I can't imagine Amazon allowing this review to be viewed, and so I'll be brief in my assessment. This book debunks everything the globalists have tried to promote about "climate change." There are climate anomalies, but climate is dynamic. In fact, more of these anomalies are occurring because of artificial weather manipulation. This book essentially looks at climate as an ongoing dynamic event. Carbon dioxide emissions are not affecting climate at all. In fact, it's at a low of .04% of all atmospheric gasses. Read the book and learn.....and this is not the only source that debunks so-called "climate change." RM

Manmade climate change is the original sin, the root cause of the suicidal policies of the world in recent years. The book explains the way that this lie has been created and promoted. It is a collection of various writers, from distinct fields. I would highly recommend this book.

Great book that totally dis-assembles the junk science of Climate Change. Each author writes a chapter and has a different take on an aspect of Climate Change on the charlatans pushing it. The IPCC charter only allows it to look into one side of the argument. It covers head of the IPCC, Rajendra K Pachauri falsely claiming to be a Nobel Prize winner.
