They work fine
These heat diffusers are identical to the one that came with my glass stovetop tea kettle. They work fine. I use them for other purposes also, like keeping a pot of oatmeal or sauce at a slow simmer without burning the food. They will rust, however, if left in a moist situation. I leave mine on the burner which is dry.

Not as substantial as expected - nervous to try on electric stove
These are heat diffuser rings that you are supposed to be able to place between a glass pot or cup and an electric stovetop element, to diffuse the heat so it does not crack the glass. They seem to work quite well on a small, plug-in, mug-/tea-warmer we have, that you can keep in your office next to your computer. This is an electric warmer that you are supposed to be able to put a porcelain coffee mug on, to keep warm. However, it is a perfect *size* warmer for a small glass teapot we recently purchased, as well. These diffuser rings just don't seem very substantial, and it makes me nervous to think about using them directly on the stove top element of a regular smooth-top stove, because I really do not want to risk cracking our beautiful (new) glass teapot. Easy enough to use, and a good value for the price, but they bend easily and seem thin. I'm not sure they "raise" the bottom surface of the glass tea pot off the smooth surface of the stove and the direct heat element.

Simple device that works well!
Using heavy stock pots for soups and stews that must cook for long periods of time meant I had to avoid scraping the bottom of the pot because there was always some burned on food or broth. These are perfect. They hold a large stock pot at just the right distance from the burner to prevent any scorching. I made a bone broth that cooked for 24 hours and the pot rinsed clean thanks to these!

Very convenient
I have glass top electric range. And even after I switch it off as all electric ones, the heat is still immense. I just slide it under the vessel over the heated top. N wow!! No further spills or over boiling. I keep it on the top itself. It’s so lightweight n small that it hardly gets noticed

Rust Prone | Good Anchoring
PROS> Good anchoring. Anything you place up top will not move. I use either glass teapot or cast iron pots and pans.> Does the job as intended; it distributes heat and elevate whatever that is put on top. It is an essential accessory for all electric stovetops.> Right size. Not too big or too small both in size and thickness.CONS> Rust prone. The workaround is to sink it in vinegar, wash off the rust with toothbrush, re-spray with oil and burn it off so that it gets recoated with a protective layer of oil. Otherwise, it keeps shedding rust and ash and gets thinner as time goes by. But worse, the rust sticks to the bottom of the glassware. Once baked into the glass teapot, it is very time consuming to scrub it off. There is no workaround unfortunately in terms of rust as all metal will eventually succumb to it. Dreadful coatings that release poison into the indoor air are not a good alternative either. But the method above significantly prolong their lifespan.
