The Miracle Worker: A Play

Incredible Historical Play, reminds me of new novel
I enjoyed directing this play very much for Texas OAP contest. Interestingly enough, I'm currently reading SPRING THAW by Tammy Fish, and one of her characters reminds me so much of Anne Sullivan - you can check out that novel at http://www.springthawnovel.com/ I recommend it highly! In this play, Gibson does a great job showing the amazing truth of history, Anne Sullivan, struggling with the loss of her brother, matches stubbornness with Helen Keller to spark an enlightening the entire world has been able to enjoy. This play has wonderful family interaction, moving drama, and some great humor from Jimmy, Helen's brother. It is one of the top plays to reach the state contest in One Act Play, and there's really no surprise why, highly recommended!

Amazing book
A few errors(repeating sentences) but the book itself was short and easy to read while still managing to enthrall me to a whole new world. Very moving and one of the only nonfiction books I’ve ever enjoyed. I highly recommend this to everyone who likes a good book and those who don’t.

Fantastic
I loved the story! Even though I normally don't like reading script this is one of the most dramatic and heartwarming books I have ever read. I read it on Kindle, but I don't believe that it matters as long as you read it.

An interesting read
I liked the story very much. However, reading all the stage directions gets a bit tedious.

CAPTIVATING

A PERFECT PLAY
I memorized this play as there are many similarities in my life; I am struggling to overcome a childhood "holocaust" and "The Miracle Worker: A Play" cheers me on. This is the second copy of the play I have; the first one is ready to be thrown out, pages yellow and binding torn, but both are dear to me! Wonderful story, insight to character, deveopment and resolution.

good
If you're looking for cyberpunk reading material, be warned: this is NOT the same William Gibson of Neuromancer fame, though a brief perusal of the Amazon description should have told you this.William Gibson, the cyberpunk novelist, was born in 1948; this play by William Gibson, the playwright (b. 1914), was first produced in 1959. To the idiots leaving 1-star / negative reviews of this item without having read the description, you got what you deserved. A quick perusal of Gibson's own website gives you a concise list of the books he's written

A heartwarming story of hope and the power of the human spirit
My granddaughter worked last summer with deaf and blind children. The story of Hellen Keller offered her a huge insight into the challenges they face.

Based on a true story and a magnificent story of courage
The play will hold your attention as you read about it. It is based on the life of a deaf/blind woman called Helen Keller. It recounts her childhood , growing up in the deep south of the states. You learn how she had to struggle to be understood with her disabilities and how she overcame them with her equally blind teacher who overcame her problems to be able to see again . Her teacher came from a destitute background and overcame it by going to a blind school in Boston and then eventually becoming Helen Kellers teacher. It is a play full of courage , sadness but uplifting in the end. I would recommend anyone who doesn't know about Helen Kellers story, to buy it and read it. There have been many movies made about her early life, at this stage. The early 1960s movie is an excellent reflection of this play.. Magnificent product and well worth the value of purchase.A quality , inspirational read.
