Great for adding serrations to hair shears
Quality checkering file leaves a very fine corrugation / serration I specifically use this for sharpening hair shears for old school barbers and dog groomers. This file walks left so start from the right (throat of the shear) and let it do its job as it it walks left. Just overlap 1/4 over you last pass and it will pick up where you left off

If you are filing any metal these are the best they are kind of pricey but you get what you pay for. I bought cheap ones and then ended up replacing them.
