Good edge, good steel, good balance !
I started using very inexpensive Chinese knives shortly after Nixon went to China and they opened their doors to the West, so I have some experience. I've also become accustomed to European-style cooking knives over the years. Each type has its points, but if you want to got an excellent knife with very forgiving (if not completely stainless) steel, a good edge, very reasonable balance, all at a VERY good price and value, here's a great choice. What they say about the tapered edge is really true, learning to use this knife is extremely easy while cutting quickly and using the crab technique to keep your fingers out of the way, it does not rust NEARLY as quickly after use as the Chinese knives I bought waaay back when, and keeping the edge sharp with a high-grade butcher's steel (do NOT even consider using a lousy one--you risk ruining a really good factory edge) is ridiculously easy. It also is an excellent substitute for any of a handful of specialized kitchen tools you'll never have to find, use, or wash again, but you can figure out which ones for yourself.

Excellent knife, very poor packaging
This is an excellent knife for slicing meat and vegetables. It came razor-sharp, but do not use this knife for cutting through bones! The blade itself is balanced and the wooden grip felt comfortable in my hand. My only problems are the packaging was easy to open (mine appeared tampered), the knife came with several scratches on both sides, and you will need a separate scabbard or block to store the knife when not in use.

Great Knife, cuts well and easy to hold on too.
I like this knife a lot, easy to cut onions and meat with, even cheese. I did however find the finish a bit lacking, the item I got had many imperfections and scratches right out of the packaging, I would have liked it to be a little better than that, but it's only cosmetic and does not effect the knife performance. I will assume over time that the knife will gain its own patina anyway. I purchase a knife holder for it and I am so glad I did: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX25G265

Perfection
This is not a knife for everyone and there are a few things to know -First, its heavier then most western chef knives and the weight is balanced more forward, you will need to adjust your technique accordingly.Second, the wood handle requires a bit of maintenance and care, you cant just leave it in the sink soaking in dirty water. And third, you'll want to get yourself a big proper wood or HI-SOFT cutting board to accompany the big mass of steel you are about to be throwing around... that tiny plastic 8 inch cutting board from your college dorm days will only hold you back. With these in mind, if you are in the market for this style of knife, it is the definition of perfection for the bargain price. The steel holds a razor sharp edge for months with proper sharpening and handling. Also you can get ridiculously fast if you figure out how to handle its weight and balance. There is nothing more satisfying.Just look past the poor packaging everyone is whining about like its the end of the world - you'll throw that crap out anyway. Remember, its the brilliant knife inside the poor packaging is what you want.

Excellent knife
I'm pretty picky about kitchen cutlery and this is my new go-to for anything involving dicing, mincing and fine slicing. It is razor sharp and the curve is just right for rocking vegetables into a rice or mince. NOTE: this is not a butcher's cleaver and should not be used for whacking between bone joint or breaking down large pieces not meat.

I'll keep my chef's knife
I don't doubt this is a wonderful knife for many people. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. I find the weight of the blade cumbersome to control and tiring to use for longish periods of time. It chops, dices, and slices well, but no better than my French chef's knife or Santoku knife. Perhaps if I had used this type of knife earlier in my cooking life, I would be more comfortable with it.In fairness, this knife is well-made and very reasonably priced. It does what it purports to do and for many people, I'm sure this is an outstanding addition to their kitchen. It just doesn't work for me.

Above and beyond (PERIOD.)
Came SUPER SHARP! Cut an onion unskinned then I finally understood what the saying “like a hot knife through butter” truly meant. This is crazy crazy sharp. It actually flaked my nail during a cut.I’m watching their knife making process (silver line productions, inc) as I type this to try and figure out how their quality is so friggin good🤯! Like for real for real Dexter- Russell y’all have me impressed!
