This is ABSOLUTELY pretzel salt
I was down to the last ounce or so of pretzel salt I had bought at King Arthur Flour's store years ago. Since they no longer sell it (at least through their catalogue), I had to find another source. When I saw this listing, I was a bit concerned because there were quite a few one- and two-star reviews that said this was just ordinary coarse salt but not pretzel salt. I looked a bit more online, but the prices everywhere else, especially with shipping charges added in, were far more than I wanted to spend. I decided to take a chance and ordered this. I do not know what people think pretzel salt is if they do not think this is pretzel salt. This is ABSOLUTELY pretzel salt . . . it stays white, it's little roundish pieces, as opposed to flaky, and it stays that way once baked, which coarse/kosher salt does not. I make pretzel challah and this is perfect for that. Don't worry about the negative reviews; this is the real deal.

Expensive, but genuine pretzel salt
I purchased this pretzel salt specifically for making pretzels. And it looks, tastes, and works just as advertised. The salt flavor is very robust, so just light salting will provide all the salty flavor you need. Like one would expect, it does not dissolve when sprinkled on moist dough. The only negative is cost. Pretzel salt is ridiculously expensive when compared with Kosher salt. But this Medley Hills Farm product is the lowest priced pretzel salt I could find.

Absolutely pretzel salt just like I like
There appears to be some controversy on this item as to whether or not it is real "pretzel salt." Along with a picture of the bag, which I shall discuss in a bit, there is a photo of four piles of salt. From left to right they are table salt, Diamond Kosher Salt, pretzel salt from a package of frozen soft pretzels that we all love from the supermarket, and this product. The difference between the two on the left and the two on the right is obvious. The close up compares the two pretzel salts, commercial and this product, which appear to be identical. Used on home made pretzels, they taste and chew as expected. The bag, just to add a point, has a zip lock type closure on top, so one can take what is needed for a recipe and close the bag, without need for a container, also a plus. Excellent product in my opinion.

Great pretzel salt
If you bake pretzels, you need pretzel salt. This Medley Hills salt is tasty and holds up well in the oven. If you bake bread or crackers, it's also good for topping those items. I'd recommend it.

Salty
We like our pretzels salty and nowadays when you buy the big box from Costco, they only give you one bag of salt for all the pretzels.
