SinLoon 2.5 to 3.5 IDE Adapter,2.5 Inch 44 Pin Hard Disk Drive Laptop IDE to 40 Pin 3.5 Inch Desktop PC PATA Port Converter Card Adapter(IDE 2.5 to 3.5)

Used this adapter to upgrade the hard drive in my iMac G4. Replaced the spinning drive with an M2 (SATA) and 2.5" IDE adapter. Then the SinLoon 2.5 to 3.5" adapter to plug everything in. Had to add some insulation to the bottom of the circuit board to prevent it from shorting out on the metal case of the drive sled. But otherwise it was plug and play.

Fits great 👍 and works very well with the 2.5 ide ssd to make this work you may need a jumper cap pin to the ssd or m.2 to ide adapter just you use on the ide hard drive.

Got this to test a hard drive I had. unfortunately the drive ended up being dead, but the adapter is similar to ones I have owned before.The listing states "If the reverse connection indicator does not light, please turn off the power immediately and reconnect it correctly!"there are no instructions that come with it, and no markings that indicate which of the lights is the "reverse connection indicator". I would assume the red one is the RCI because it comes on when power is applied. otherwise this is just a straight through connector that also supplies power to the hard drive. simple and no active components.

Works with no problem (cakewalk). I tried two different types, non of them worked.

This adapter did not work for my application.I ordered this product to get a La Cie Porsche external drive back in service using a 2.5 inch IDE drive I had on-hand. The La Cie case is useful for the firewire connection to backup older Powerbook G4s. This seemed like an inexpensive bridge between these items on my shelf.The drive would show up on my computer using a usb adapter so the drive itself is good, but it would not show up using this adapter inside the La Cie case and connecting via the La Cie cabling. Contacted vendor and was promptly sent a replacement. Same problem: the naked drive shows up by itself but does not show up using this adapter inside or outside the La Cie case.Saw the review by another customer sharing that he took the time to re-solder the adapter, but I just don't have the patience nor the skills to attempt a similar fix.
