Sturdy, well made, good instructions. This is the exact one my chiro used on me years ago to restore cervical curve. It worked then, hopefully it works again! Word to the wise: GO EASY at first! I know you're anxious and excited to be on your way...I know you can pump that thing up waaay more than 3 pumps with no pain....I know you feel like you can stay in it for more than 5 minutes that first day....just follow the directions and DON'T! I made myself good and sore : / Will update in a couple of weeks on the progress : ) fyi I have visible 'forward head posture', lack of cervical curvature, and 'arthritis consistent with age (43)' according to my last xray. Hurts every day. Darn near everything aggravates it. The first instance of lack of curvature was from being in a rear-end collision over a decade ago, and this thing fixed it completely at the chiro's office. a work injury last year has put me in worse pain than i've ever experienced in my life. . .and the worker's comp treatments only had transiently helpful effects, and i can't afford to go back to the original chiro from years ago. . at least i can try his tools. I have high hopes! i've had 2 or 3 day runs where i literally cannot hold my head up, and am in pain even lying down. update: it's been a few weeks, and i've got to say, this works. i haven't had a really bad day since i started with this. i can feel (and hear) changes taking place. i coupled this with the 'treat your own neck' book/exercises. i feel better than i did when i was actively going to pt, acupuncture, and getting cortisone shots. i'm taking ibuprofen once in a while (twice a week, maybe), but that's it. i am pleasantly surprised, and have hope for a pain-free future!

I spend hours hunched over my computer key board at work and developed constant pain and numbness down my left arm.. This device is the consumer model of the professional model my chiropractor used for my treatment of a pinched nerve in my neck that was causing severe pain and numbness. I have had the pain non stop for the last 6 weeks. Finally got X-rays to pinpoint what was causing the pain. Pinched nerve between the C5 and C6. Started treatment with chiropractor. I was unable to tolerate using the device for the first couple of weeks of treatment at the chiropractor but my neck pain finally calmed down enough to be able to tolerate the pain. I purchased the 1400-D to continue to do the treatments at home. I have used the 1400-D for the last 4 days and the pain is nearly gone. Only a small amount of numbness is still felt sometimes. I am stretching before and icing after every home treatment. I am convinced this device is helping to restore the proper curve and alignment in my neck. Remains to be seen if the consumer model will hold up over time. If not my chiropractor can order me the professional model. It may not help everyone but it seems to be helping to alleviate my pain. I feel it is overpriced @ $159 but how much is it worth to you to not live in pain. Working for me and I believe it is money well spent. UPDATE: I still give the device 5 stars for how well it works in improving my neck pain but the first unit broke within the 1st 30 days. The pressure release button that you push with your thumb to release air pressure broke rendering the device useless. It has been returned to Amazon for refund and another device is on order. I now give it only 3 stars for durability. I will revise rating if the new device lasts a reasonable amount of time. UPDATE. I have raised to 5 stars now because my second unit has been working without issue for 6 years now

I first used this device at my chiropractors office. She had a herniated disc in her neck and she used this device to encourage it into correct alignment. She said it worked. Fast forward five years. I have always had a neck that had no curve in it... at least I discovered it in my 20’s. The attached picture is an X-ray I took a pic of about 10 years ago. My neck is MUCH worse now because no matter what I did, it got worse. A neck in this shape will cause horrible headaches and I now have my own herniated disc. So I bit the bullet and I bought this device. If it worked for my chiropractor some years ago I figured it was worth it, and it is about 5 of my medical copayment so what the hell? Right? So I tried it yesterday for the first time. I had a splitting headache. My neck was sore. I read the instructions, which were very straight-forward. The device is easy to use. I positioned myself on it with my neck on the inflatable pad. I strapped my head in and I inflated it a little bit. It initially felt strange but not painful. For me, I felt the pressure on my neck but it didn’t feel bad or good. Definitely felt different than any other thing I have tried. I deflated and inflated it (to where it was comfortable for me) 10 times... and on the 10th time I left it inflated for 5 mins. I breathed deeply and relaxed my shoulders. The feeling of pressure on my neck didn’t hurt but at the same time it felt weird. When I deflated the air cushions and I strapped my forehead... I got up slowly and I felt like my headache had improved. My neck felt hot... like blood flow was going to it, which is a good thing. That night my neck was sore but I expected that. I expect to be sore for at least a couple weeks. My neck is kind of a mess so pushing it back into alignment is not gonna be pleasant entirely. Day 2... back of my neck was slightly tender. But again I have a headache every day so I did my home therapy again on the posture pump. I couldn’t inflate it as much as I did yesterday. Neck is definitely tender. But I did the same treatment as yesterday and again felt good when I was done. I will continue to use this every day and hopefully see progress. I will update here as I go!

This thing saved my quality of life. I started having severe pain on the left side of my neck, left shoulder, and left arm. I thought it would go away by itself, but it didn't. The pain simply never stopped. NEVER. I had trouble working, and couldn't sleep well at night, waking frequently every night due to the pain... After a couple of months of suffering, I tried going to a chiropractor. He was sure he would help me, but after 16 visits, i wasn't much better off than I started. I finally resigned myself to the fact that I was just going to have to live with this pain for the rest of my life. One thing i did notice at the chiropractor, though, is that when he lifted up strongly on my head, the pain would subside for that moment. So I started looking on amazon for traction devices. While doing so, I came across this Posture Pump. I read reviews where others with similar symptoms were helped. The price was a big detourant, but eventually i bought it anyway, willing to try anything to get out of this NEVER ENDING PAIN. After using this thing daily for about 4 weeks, the constant pain is entirely gone! My shoulder may get irritated at night if I sleep on my left side, but this too continues to improve. This is not an overnight miracle, but has a cumulative effect. When your discs are compressed, the liquid is forced out of them like a squeezed sponge, and they bulge out and press against the nerve that runs along the spine. The posture pump stretches your compressed discs and allows them to rehydrate - soaking up the surrounding fluid and nutrients. Rehydrating the discs, reverses the damage, and allows them to take their original shape relieving the pressure on the nerve. To be fair, I was initially skeptical about this thing, but I was in so much pain that I was willing to try anything. It initially made my neck muscles sore until I got used to it. But the persistence is worth the end result. If your willing to spend 15 minutes a day for the next month or so, this can be your miracle as is was for me. I recommend this whole heartedly, and hope this review will help others who are in constant pain and on the fence about trying out this Posture Pump.

The plastic material is too hard and was more damaging to my neck. I gave it away.

After playing the violin for years, and now working a desk job, my neck has been in constant pain and my chiropractor suggested I get a neck pump. I am so glad I found this one! On the day it arrived I was hurting so badly that I just opened the box, and tried it out full power, and much to my amazement, it brought immediate relief! Of course, I then read all of the instructions, did both the before and after stretching, which is so important and helps out, and ever so slowly, my neck is starting to unwind and let go of the pain. I can tell a marked difference in not only the bumps from tension dissipating but my range of motion is so much better. Hurrah! I use it twice a day or more if I am hurting and I find my neck has adjusted to it and actually responds to it quite well. I like to think of it as a physical therapy session I could have easily had to go to the chiropractor for, spending precious time and money, but instead, I have the therapy session in my own home, at my convenience. Yay! Also, the seller is wonderful, quick to respond with plenty of great information and suggestions. The "Posture Pump" is not only well worth the money, but well worth the future of my neck health. Thanks to you "Quick Relief Products" you helped to change my life for the better! Only suggestion is for that price, a nice little storage bag would be wonderful, as I had to purchase one.

I rated this item 3 stars not because of its performance, but because it is ridiculously overpriced. The device itself is an effective therapeutic rehabilitation modality. However, at nearly $200. with shipping, it is not a wise choice. There are generic models that are identical to this model selling on Amazon for $50. Don't overpay if you need a neck decompression device. Buy the generic model and save over $100.

This is a great device and does exactly what they say it does. You do have to work up to be able to use it for more than a few minutes. I was in terrible pain and going to my Chiropractor twice a week for some relief. After I received this Posture Pump, Model 1400-D, and using it as much as I could handle, My pain subsided and I was able to last two weeks without an adjustment. My Chiropractor noticed a huge difference in how well my neck has stayed aligned. Some reviews have noted that this device was "Cheap", ignore those comments as those folks just don't know anything about materials or manufacturing, appearance has nothing to do with quality. The main frame of this thing is NOT plastic, it is a type of injection molded Fiberglass. The fiber strands create a much stronger frame than any "Plastic" could do. This method of construction allows the device to be both strong and light. Once the huge cost of tooling is bought, the frames can be mass produced at a lower price than metal and the lighter weight reduces shipping costs. The pump, air bags and release valves are very nice, high quality pieces. Someone that does not understand materials and manufacturing processes will not have the knowledge or background to understand what materials have been used and/or why. I spend 15yrs working as a Manufacturing and Process Engineer working on electro mechanical product design. I see nothing wrong with the quality of this device, it is well made, and the parts that count the most are not in any way "cheap" or of poor quality. I love this product and will probably purchase the low back version before long...

I bought this product after recommendation by my chiropractor and its use has so far resulted in a marked improvement in my neck alignment.

I have a slipped disc in my neck and a really sore shoulder- I heard of this through my dad who had the same thing. He uses it once and he is better. It's easy to stick to and use everyday because the days I don't use it... I really regret it! It may be expensive but it is cheaper than all the appts at physio and massage (which focusses on traction of the neck only a couple times a week) This is an investment for the rest of my life. So thankful for my posture pump!

The head strap doesn't work or fit very well. Seem to do the job though
