Cattae 'Serenity' Waterfall Pet Drinking Fountain, 1 Gallon Capacity

My wife and I got this for our 4 cats. Its very quiet compared to others we have had, plus easy to clean. Our 4 furry kids love it. It has 3 areas for them to drink,they like the 2nd tier the most. We see our cats using this lots more then our old water fountain we had which made them stoop over it to get a drink, this one stands higher where the water comes out. We are so glad that we replaced it with this model and its a hit with the cats. We like it lots as its so easy to break down and clean. Plus the pump itself is adjustable so you are able to find that right flow for your pet that they enjoy. We would recommend it to others looking to for a easy to clean, quieter pet water fountain.

Item was delivered quickly and was well-packaged. It's a bit larger than I was expecting, but that is my own fault for not paying attention to the measurements. I would recommend putting it on a tray or other solid surface, as picking it up to clean it without slopping water all over the place will be difficult, unless I siphon the water out first. The only other very minor issue I have is that it is not completely silent. It started out that way but after about 30 minutes the motor/pump began humming. I rearranged the motor, ensure it was connected and seated properly, etc., and it still hums. Every once in a while it (the humming) stops but then starts up again in about an hour. It's not very loud, but my house is extremely small (basically the kitchen and living area are one room), so I can hear it all the time, unless I have the radio on. I'm getting used to it, it's mostly an annoyance. I have unplugged it a few times just to stop the humming for awhile, and it is a relief when it stops. But I always plug it back in again as I want my cats to have fresh water. The humming doesn't seem to bother them. All in all, even with the hum, it was a good purchase.

My veterinarian suggested I try to get my cats to drink more water and I wasn't sure how to go about that. Honestly I wasn't quite sure how it was going to work.But I'm very happy to say that my cats were quite taken with it. One went immediately to me to drink from it and then my other cat followed suite.And they have both been using it ever since. I am very excited by this great product and happy that it works. And now I can report success back to my vet!

I'm not sure what I expected for around $100. The Cattae Waterfall is a nice design but the plain and somewhat flimsy plastic construction is not in line with the price. Yet, it works as intended. The biggest problem I see with it stems from poor design, not so much with the water flow, capacity or filtration but with the pump placement. This is by far the noisiest pump I have ever heard. I found that you can diminish the sound slightly by keeping the bowl full but I had the most success reducing the noise by placing a small silicone bumper between the pump and the plastic latch that secures the pump in place. This reduced the noise considerably and it no longer sounds like it's trying to vibrate itself off the floor. If there is just one thing you can do to improve this design it would be to make the pump attachment more secure in order to inhibit unwanted vibrations. Other that this it works well.

I'm really conflicted about rating this product because, although my 4 cats have shown no interest in it whatsoever and so, for me, the purchase has not been beneficial, I have absolutely no complaints about anything else. In particular, the seller's communication was better than most, and the product was easy to assemble and use. The pump was loud until I figured out that adding more water -- more than the minimum shown on the inside of the bowl -- stopped the noise. If you think your cat(s) will be attracted by flowing water, this product is probably at least as good, if not better, than its plastic competitors.

I ordered this fountain with the hopes of avoiding multiple water bowl fill-ups throughout the day...bingo! The fountain has a large capacity, which accommodates my three cats and dogs perfectly. Not only do I NOT have to refill it constantly, but more than one cat can drink at one time. Furthermore, the basin is large enough to cater to my bigger dogs. The fountain was easy to put together and is not noisy at all. I recommend this fountain to any pet owner, cats and dogs alike.

The unit is quiet, and finding a replacement pump should be easy if it fails (looks very standard). The small reusable partial filter gets any small visual debris out of the water. My cat was drinking out of it within 24 hrs. Replacement filters are available, look up: (Drinkwell Premium Carbon Replacement Filters). Unit is built well enough to last for years.

Updated Review: The pump stopped working after three month. When I unplugged it for the final time, the AC adapter's plastic case broke in half, leaving the wires exposed. It's past the Amazon return date, so I wasted $99.The pump is louder than I would like, and it is an absolute pain to clean, but my cats love this fountain.
