Hourleey 2 Pack Solid Brass Garden Hose Shut Off Valve with 2 Extra Rubber Washers, 3/4 Inch, Gate Valve, Hose Valve, Brass

This shut off valve was purchased to replace a cheap valve that had been used for 10 years. There are two characteristics of this valve that make it outstanding for my purposes. 1) It is built from quality machined parts, with a solid brass structure that is very durable and functions smoothly. Attaching a hose, nozzle, or other accessories is smooth and easy because the threads are not shallow but are distinctly machined. (Many modern hose fittings are stamped and have shallow threads.) 2) The second and very pleasing aspect of this valve is how smoothly the shut off valve works. This valve has a longer lever/handle than many others. The ball valve opens and closes easily with a light movement of the thumb. The shut off of the water is complete, with no dripping. Previously when closing the cheap valve, the water coming out the end of the valve would spray at all angles. This valve maintains a much straighter, smoother flow as the valve is being opened or closed. This allows the valve to be used as a throttle to control the flow of the water, even without a nozzle on the end. There are two considerations that may affect the selection of this valve. 1) The extra width of the valve and its short structure may be a consideration if the item being attached is expecting only the narrow threads on the end of a hose. 2) Since the valve is made of solid brass, it is notably heavier than many others. My appreciation for the durability and smooth operation of a well-made shut off "outweighs" the negative of handling a somewhat heavier valve.

These are sturdy ball valves, solid brass body and handle, and a stainless steel ball. No plastic parts to strip out. Operation is a quarter turn, off and on, with handle stops. Good quality hardware and no leaks.

This solid brass hose shut off valve worked perfectly and was easy to install when our old shut off system broke and was flooding everything.

They are made well but kinda small. Make sure you keep the nut on tight or score outside thread. If it comes off not good. Mine has come lose a few times. A bit hard to install if you are putting it on an outside tap against a wall. I had to take apart and install and put back together (probably why nut comes a bit lose). Great value.... works well. Hint put on-off on it with an indelible marker or paint. haha

Incredibly sturdy solid metal construction, does *not* leak at all, and the extra-long switch makes it super easy to use even when my arthritis is acting up. It’s a beautiful thing when something works like it’s supposed to do. Absolutely recommended!

These seem to be really well made. The brass is thick and well formed. The lever action is good. I think these will last unlike what I have been buying at the home improvement stores.

Just ordered my SECOND set of thees great shut off valves and am in the process of throwing away all the plastic valves that fail and have to be replaced time after time. I love a (1) QUALITY PRODUCT THAT (2) IS ENGINEERED TO PERFECTION AND THIS IS A REALLY GOOD EXAMPLE OF BOTH. I have never had so much water pressure (thanks to the large opening) coming out of my hose ... it is very impressive (and pleasantly surprising) that the larger opening makes such a difference in the water flow and pressure when opened (and yes, another fine feature) it is also so easy to do with the large size handle lever. It is absolutely, without a doubt, in my opinion, well worth the price and that is why I did order more of them!!

Good quality, but these are NOT full flow valves. Wide open, the internal diameter is about 3/8". If you use a 1/2" hose you might not notice, but flow is significantly reduced on a 5/8" or 3/4" hose
