These beautiful grips are stunning on my Coonan .357 magnum/1911It took maybe 10 minutes to put them on. The quality is simply superb!This Pistol along with these Grips are truly over the top, excellent in every way!

Coonan 357 Magnum 1911s are the most exciting pistols to shoot. Although I have large hands I wanted more control for my pistol. I ended up going to the Stoner CNC website to order some SLIM grips. Before I get into the review, I want to give you some caveats about removing grips.When you replace 1911 grips, you must have the correct tools. There is a tool that I highly recommend that you acquire to remove bushings from the 1911 frame. It will save you time and aggravation. Otherwise, you will strip off the threads on the bushing or worse, the threads on the frame REQUIRING a gunsmith. You CANNOT use a conventional screwdriver. That is what I did and stripped my bushings.On to the review:I acquired a set of SLIM bushings and new screws for my SLIM grips. Once I installed the new grips, I was amazed at how much more comfortable the Coonan was to shoot. There is a groove for the thumb when shooting. The starburst pattern is like a Wilson Combat. It has a great feel and there is more control for the pistol over the original smooth wooden grips.They don't tend to slip on my hands, even when wet. G10 is a highly durable polymer composite that is virtually indestructible.I am very pleased with my purchase and my grips.
