Read the book
and I can understand why some people were annoyed with the political leaning in the book, but I liked the fact that they took a prominent character and had her deal with a severe issue (Cheryl Blossom's cancer). I hope there will be a book 5 in the works!

Disappointing. Archie, Archie Andrews: Where Are You???
Archie: The Married Life series follows Archie Andrews, America's favorite comic teen, as he learns to become an adult in two alternate worlds. In one, he has married Veronica and struggled to be the son-in-law that Hiram Lodge wants. In the other, he has found happiness with Betty and teaching. As the two parallel universes continue to diverge, their paths take eerily similar courses that are fraught with angst, upheaval and controversy. Marital bliss, secure jobs, reliable friends, life itself: they're all threatened in this newest installment, which collects issues 19-24 of the magazine. As a lifelong fan, it's hard for me to admit that I'm disappointed with this book. Unfortunately, it's the truth. What began as an interesting concept has deteriorated into a political and social machine, obviously used by the author and publisher to support their personal views on hot topics. I never want my review to deteriorate into a political or moral rant. I'm interested more in the quality of the books I read and the value they impart to my life. This book, however, has met none of those qualifications. I want to read a story about Riverdale's inhabitants that doesn't ignore the problems of adulthood but also doesn't blatantly support controversial issues that truly do not belong in books that are seen as children's / young adult literature. I almost wish I had spent my time reading the old 1960s Archie comics that I've read a hundred times before instead of reading this book.

grown up Archie
Archie and the gang are all grown up in this series. Definitely not for small kids....it deals with some really heavy issues that some adults still struggle with. Interesting read...but a little soap boxy. I did enjoy it though.

Another Brilliant Book
I'm a fan of the Married Life series and bought this book to fill gaps in my collection of the issues. If you've been following the series so far then I'd definitely recommend keep going with this one. It steps away from the sci-fi elements of the previous volume (which I personally didn't mind, but heard bothered some people) to focus once more purely on the lives of the Archie cast.Kevin & Clay's story is brought more into focus in this volume and as well as that we also see the arrival of the popular character Cheryl Blossom in a truly heart-warming tale that will be relatable to many.If you're new to the series I'd of course recommend starting from volume one, but be sure that you do get your money's worth with these graphic novels - they're about as thick as your average catalogue in terms of pure content and will give your hours of reading for your money.

bring back the old Reggie
This started out as a great series.Bold and imaginitive, however this volume is without a story plot. Through out this series I missed the real Reggie Mantle. Gone is the snooty, Narcissistic, mean spirited, often in your face rude rival of Archie. Reggie in this series is a very boring 'Mr goody two shoes'. In the story line of 'Archie marries Veronica' Reggie simply walks into a relationship with Betty without trying or Betty questioning, after all he showed no interest in Betty for decades. I cant believe that he does not even try to win over Midge especially when she is not in Relationship with Moose and has even broken up with Jughead. After all he got so many beatings from Moose because he wont stop hitting on his Girlfriend. The only positive that happened in this volume is Jughead and Ethel hooking up, although that found very little focus. But there is still hope as the series is not over and Reggie has not gotten married yet. Reggie going back to his womanizing ways, cheating in business to get ahead. Would simply lighten up the series. There is scope for endless emotional drama in this series. But for some reason the storyline is very timid.
