Q: Is tech wash and tx direct suitable for cotton and linen?

Nik Wax is a good product and after an activity where its been raining I wash all my gear with it, I have never noticed any issues with cotton, could not answer about linen. But it's designed for waterproof clothing

Q: Does anyone know how long approx does the waterproofing last?

Not a short answer unfortunately, It all depends on usage of your items and conditions you have used them in. So if you have worn it 7 days a week for a month in pouring rain then you will have to re proof monthly. If you are similar usage to I do mine every 6 months after fairly frequent use in varying conditions. No simple answer but I hope this helps?
