Do not buy this product. The attachment is shoddy and drops out of the pole. I’ve tried to contact the company, and it looks like I’m not alone. There is no email address as suggested and the product is not fit for use.

The end screws on easily and the aluminium pole is well made. However the end drops off under mild pressure in the course of opening the window so the product returned for refund.

When the pole arrived it took me a little while to work out how to open the windows with it - the trick is to pull it backwards (towards the lower end of the window) as well as just down. Closing the window is a bit awkward, and I use the little notch on the round bit of the hook to push against the bit of the window which the handle is mounted to. It's a little awkward, but meant that I finally opened the velux windows for the first time this summer!

I bought this as it came with 2 different types of hook as we have a velux and a lever type roof light. As it turns out you can use the c attachment for both. Very sturdy and easy to extend and use - we should have bought one years ago!

You can tell straight away that it's a well made product and the adjusting mechanism is very good by use of clickable locking slots. The pole is sturdy yet lightweight which is great as I bought this for my wife as she can't reach the attic window due to its location.There's two attachments and the c-grip is the one you use for a Velux window. However, during the two-stage unlocking mechanism of a Velux window the grip is fine for the first stage, but it flexes and loses grip at the second stage due to the change in angle of the window's opening bar.I can overcome this by pulling directly down during stage 1 and then pushing away from me for stage 2 to compensate for the change in angle. But this requires a lot more strength because you are so far away from the window and at the end of the pole and whilst this may be fine for me I am not sure if my wife will manage.A similar situation applies when closing the window because it requires more force and the grip simply flexes. Again, to overcome this you have to close the window hard and fast and it will be ok thank to the additional momentum assisting the grip. But slamming the window shut isn't ideal when your children are sleeping in a room nearby.The obvious solution would be to make the grip stronger, ideally of aluminium and have a rubber insert or something similar on the inside of the c-grip to protect the window's components.

Great item made of good quality. The wardrobe attachment is a handy piece of kit.

This item is NOT fit for purpose. Although I bought it in February I have only just tried to use it and the hook that you screw to the pole is flimsy and came apart when I tried to open the window. I now realise my 30 days of return is past and I have a completely useless product.

Opens And closes Velux skylight. Be careful as does scratch the window frame.
