Thrifty Chic: Interior Style on a Shoestring

This is a gorgeous book full of generous photos and helpful descriptions about how to achieve a beautiful interior on a budget from both used materials and affordable new buys (with emphasis on the former). A must-have for anybody interested in vintage chic or flea market style decor. I cannot disagree more with the reviewers who say Rachel Ashwell's books are preferable to this one. Ashwell's books focus one HER style: wrinkly flowery fabrics, distressed wood finishes, and WHITE walls. Not for everyone. Thrifty Chic is not only for Ashwell's shabby chic followers, but also features spreads of different styles including modern style spaces. The point is that you can decorate your place on a budget and achieve a completely unique style, not a carbon copy of a mail order catalog. Great tips, great photos, great projects. Highly recommended.

Cute book for ideas of color and trims for a shabby chic look. It doesn;t really give too many options on where to find the looks, but it does give you many pictures to emulate towards the looks

Book was in great condition. Better than expected. Shipping a little on the slow side, but covid may have be responsible for that.

This is a terrific book with lots of brilliant ideas on home style that doesn't break the bank. It's colourful and imaginative and a really good read. Highly recommended - even if you don't want to decorate you'll want to read this just for the joy of it. Lovely book.
