Hobonichi Techo Original Book Apr Start (Japanese/A6/Apr 2020 Start/Mon Start)

I love the Hobonichi, it’s a really well thought out diary/planner. Whether one really needs 3 diaries in one book is debatable however, if like me, you like having yearly, monthly and daily overviews then you will love this diary.This planner is printed on Tomoe River, a much coveted paper by fountain pen owners. You can throw practically any type of ink at this paper and it won’t soak through the pages, even though they’re extremely thin. If you love using highlighters, and colour coding, then this diary is for you. If you like using Sharpies or other alcohol based pens then this diary isn’t.There are two more things to note about this diary, given that the paper is so thin: the first is that this reduces the weight and thickness of the diary, which is good news if you want to carry it about with you. It will comfortably fit in most bags. The second thing to note is that you will see ghosting. If you don’t like ghosting, and you’ve torn your hair out using a LT1917, then this diary isn’t for you.It’s unsurprising that these diaries have a cult following, there’s something very satisfying about seeing it fill up. However, due to import taxes, high shipping costs and all the other hassle associated with importing things into the UK from Japan, this pushes up the price of a reasonably priced diary to that which is prohibitively expensive for most. If you do have the cash to spare, or know you’ll get full use of it, the Hobonichi is definitely worth buying.

I have had the Hobonichi A5 Cousin for the past two years now, but wanted to try a more portable version. The layout is almost exactly the same as the Cousin except for the weekly view, which is not present in this version. However it was the section I used the least anyway. Same exceptional paper, gorgeous layout and calendars. I find I have enough space for my daily tasks, well being section and record of my day. I'm very happy with my purchase!
