Best Shave for Electric Razor
I have used Norelco razors for decades. I would say that none of the razors I have used over the years can compare to the closeness of a shave with a manual razor until this one. I was really surprised at the closenes of the shave especially in the problem areas. I really enjoyed the quality of the shave and the ease of cleaning the shaver after each use. Now for the issues. Since the beginning (approximately six months ago the shaver would make a sqealing sound when the shaving head leaned at an angle into the curves of my jaw and neck. I could never figure out what was causing this until more recently the shaving head started falling off the main body of the shaver. The cause of all of this is due to the design of the unit. The shaving head is driven by the cylinder under it which fits over the drive in the main body and snaps into place. The drive turns inside of the cylinder. The friction between the cylinder and the driving head was causing the sqealing and as wear caused the clearances to open up between the cylinder and drive slop was created which loosened the fit of the shaving head. Over time the continued wear and slop led to a loss of the forces or ability for the main body to securely hold the shaving head in place. The good news is that Norelco includes a two year warranty with their shavers and after contacting them via chat on their website they are sending me a new shaving head lower unit. This item would cost $27.95 + shipping if not covered under the warranty. I think the addition of a lubricant (oil or silicone) inside the cylinder and less pressure on the unit will allow it to last much longer. Norelco has changed the design on the newer shavers. The newer design has smaller diameter shaving blades and what seems like less articulation than my shaver. The newer design limits some of the force that causes friction and wear on the inner walls of the cylinder. The cylinder external shape was also redesigned shape with a notch that will minimize some of the slop that could develop. I bought the newer 5300 series shaver and it shaves as well as my existing shaver but I like the larger shaving blades on my existing razor. If I knew then what I learned from my experience with this razor I would have still purchased it. The shave is a definite improvement over the traditional Norelco electric razor.

Works well overall...
After a year of daly use it feels as it needs to be replaced with a new one...

If I skip shaving for a day, I find myself using a manual razor.
If used frequently, it is good for a quick touch up, but not a great close shave. Not as effective as I'd like.

Good shaver
I've been using this Norelco electric razor for several months now and am quite satisfied with it. I was reluctant to buy another Norelco after the last one I had died a premature death. That one was a Series 2300 shaver and it barely lasted a year. When it failed, I tried a low-end Braun, but that one was absolute junk; the shaving foil fell apart after only a few uses, it was noisy and it didn't give a good shave. I always seem to go back to Norelco, and this one is a good choice. The ergonomics aren't the best for someone like me, with arthritic hands. The recommended grip is just uncomfortable, but a more comfortable grip places one's thumb on the power button, resulting in several interruptions in the shave. The battery life is very good; I can get up to 9 shaves on a charge, and it charges fully in under an hour. Cleanup under running water is a breeze. I always get a good shave with this Norelco, though it requires a little extra effort in some parts of my face, like directly under my nose and around the Adam's apple. I doubt that it will last as long as my very first Norelco did-- I had that one for 13 years-- but I'm very pleased with it and recommend it.

Quite the upgrade from my previous Norelco, but...
I previously tried replacing my $25, 10-year-old Norelco shaver with a $50 model, and it wasn't any better than old one (which has 6-year-old blades), but *this* one is definitely an upgrade, and I like it a lot. The "multi-flex" head really hugs my face for a much easier close shave than the cheaper models with less "flex."Having said that, there are some shortcomings:• The power button is exactly where the thumb naturally rests — which means accidentally turning it off, or moving your thumb to an award position that gets sore in the time it takes to shave.• The heads are further apart than my old shaver, and a little too far apart for easy shaving my upper lip. It gets the job done, but it's a little awkward.• The clipper being a separate piece means having to remember what you want to trim until after you shave, or switching heads in the middle of shaving• It can't be used while plugged in, for some reasonBut regardless, after a couple weeks, I think it's a keeper.

Not what I expected
I've been buying Norelco electric shavers for years. I'm not sure if I got a dud or if it's the way this specific model is made, but I have to make 3-5 runs over my face for a good shave with this thing. Probably the worst Norelco I've ever bought in my opinion (I've had no problems with any other models except this one)

Great Shaver
I've used a Norelco shaver for most of my life. This cheaper version of the Norelco floating heads razor shaves just as close as the more expensive versions but without the added charging stand and cleaning junk. I will definitely purchase this or a similar Norelco shaver again. I really like the rotary head system and the quietness of the shaver. What I didn't like about the Norelco was the charging stand recharging system and the cleaning system. I travel extensively and never liked bringing all that extra junk with me. This shaver plugs directly into the charging cord, so it is easy to travel with. A travel pouch is not included with this cheaper version of the Norelco shaver, but I have the pouch from my last shaver so this is not an issue. The last shaver I tried was a Panasonic. It sounded like a lawn mower and didn't give me the close shave I was used to with my Norelco.

Suave
Excelente producto.
