Wes deserved better
Wes was every girl’s cowboy dream. I knew i liked him from the beginning. I was excited to read this, i give it a solid 3.7 stars. Bethany was overly insecure … in my opinion for no reason. But i know family complexes can stem from nothing. I liked that she didn’t try to sweep it under the rug, or she was better all of a sudden. She grew into herself. What i didn’t like was the ending. The ONE time she could be strong for Wes and didn’t. THAT killed the romance for me. Bethany SAW and ACKNOWLEDGED his hurt, and didn’t care…. Wes didn’t hurt her, yes she was hurt but they both were. And she did NOTHING to ease his hurt. And that’s how it was throughout the story. Her not doing much. Bare minimum and Wes not knowing love ate that up.

Oh my goodness to Wes and Bethany
This book rounded this series out with a bang! We’ve been teased with Wes and Bethany in the prior books in the series and now we finally got to have a good look at them!Bethany tries to act like she always has everything perfectly together, but she’s human. She doesn’t like people knowing she’s not perfect. Wes is our snarky southern gentleman. He came to town to help his sister out and had his hands full with more responsibilities than expected.Wes and Bethany team up to flip a house together, with their paired expertise. They both expose more than just the houses needs when they do the flip. They realize how the other ticks and where the other needs support.I loved the ending to this story (especially seeing Bethany’s brother show how much he truly cares for his sister) and am very happy with the ending to this series.

Small town, enemies to lovers romance ❤️
5/5 ⭐️3/5 🌶Bethany Castle is a perfectionist to the max and when Wes Daniels blows into town, her world is thrown off kilter. Bethany is finally stepping out on her own and running her own flip opposite her brother. With the sibling drama, a reality show begins to film their flips to capture their rivalry. As Wes and Bethany work together, their chemistry becomes undeniable and Wes sees right threw her perfect mask. What a perfect ending for the Hot and Hammered series. Bethany and Wes were absolutely made for each other and I love the support Wes gives her when her insecurities rear their ugly heads. The writing and events leading to their eventual relationship was amazing and showed every lovable flaw the characters had.

This could have been so much more…
I liked the premise of this book but the story, for me, didn’t come close to what it could have been. The female in the story was a perfectionist trapped in a life lacking true joy. The male had a tough and unstable childhood. Both were working together to flip a house and in competition with her brother who was also working on a flip. There wasn’t much background on why or how the female became so wrapped up in trying to be perfect in every way…so I didn’t feel invested in her issues. And the male seemed far too mature and balanced to only be 23 years old so he almost seemed too perfect. The story was a little boring and slow moving. I wish it had included more details on the construction, people and work involved in the flip or more about the dynamics of the TV show being taped. Also, the female was said to have grown up in a construction family but seemed clueless about construction, which didn’t seem realistic. I pushed through to finish the book but cannot recommend it. Good premise but the content was just flat for me.

Funny and Light and Relatable
Oh man I loved this as much as I hoped I would when I read the previous book about Rosie and Dominic. The tension that gave way to partnership and friendship. The way they saw each other - it was so good.I was pretty annoyed by Stephen every time he showed up. I’m confused by his relationship with Kristen and she seems like an awful person. The level of selfishness - it bothered me the whole time.I’m also not sure I buy the outcome of the home inspection. I’ve never heard of a house being deemed unacceptable because it was too nice? Yeah, okay, sure. But overall the banter and the connection between the two was a lot of fun to read.

Tools of Engagement
Tools of Engagement is the 3rd in @tessabaileyisanauthor’s Hot and Hammered series. If you’ve read any of our reviews lately you’ll know we’ve loved finding some new authors this year and Tessa is one who I now want to read anything ever written! Bethany is branching out on her own with her first flip. She likes to portray perfection in absolutely everything she does and she wants this house to be no different. Wes is new to Port Jefferson. He’s arrived in town to look after his niece and is learning everything as he goes. As this is the third in the series we already know main character Bethany quite well. We’re briefly introduced to leading man Wes at the end of the second book and without knowing who book 3 was about I knew these two were going to get together! There’s age gap and while not full on enemies to lovers there’s definitely a lot of contention between these two in the beginning of their story that fuels a fire between them. Wes is observant and wise beyond his years given his upbringing. He sees through Bethany and gets under her skin in a way she isn’t sure she loves at first! Two things that have been powerful through this series is the sisterhood between all of the women and the message that comes with, along with the message that women can do whatever we put our minds to! I can’t wait to dive into my next Tessa Bailey novel, feel free to leave your recommendations!

Sweet age gap
I feel like it's been forever since I read a book by this author even though I've had this book basically since it came out. Shame on me. This is a very cute age gap, antagonist to lovers romance with a 23 year old reluctant caregiver and his 30 year old boss who takes on a house flipping competition against her brother. The banter between Wes and Bethany is classic Bailey as is the steam. I really enjoyed this.

really phoned it in
Aw well, I guess they can’t all be tolerable! This was boring and very shallow read but it’s also very hard to write books.

Brilliant! I loved this book. The characters are realistic, lots of teasing and banter. I’m new to this author but will definitely be buying more of her books.
