Installation on the wall definitely requires some work unless you opt to put this on a desktop. But I wouldn't recommend that because it's a little bit light and the weight of the cord might yank it from the table.Choosing a location on the wall could be a little bit limiting as the power cable is not very long (3m / 9 feet). Standard heights of walls are usually 9 feet so the cable stretches just enough to reach the power source. Therefore, a location right above a socket is almost always imperative, unless of course you have a cord extension.The LED display is definitely not as bright as the devil red eyes bright that the others have sworn but just bright enough to be visible during daytime or when the lights are on.Construction is not much of a standout as it feels like a cheap plastic and at times gave me the impression that it's frail and easily breakable. But since it will never be touched again after installation, provided it was not damaged during handling, makes its cheap plasticky feel not that big of a deal. Although I would have been willing to spend a little more if it were made of aluminum or something sturdier.Be careful when taking this clock out of its box as there are two screws that hold it onto the box that are not readily visible (transparent washers). These screws are only for fixing the clock on to the box and don't have any other functions whatsoever, as far as I'm concerned. I had no prior idea that its boxing would be like this so I just ripped it off from the box. Fortunately, One of the screws broke and it made me realize that I had to unscrew the other. The clock has sustained some damage, but since the damage was on the back and won't be visible, it didn't really matter. I was just a little disappointed because it felt like I am having a damaged good.Adjustment of time and other information was a breeze. On the back of the clock, there are three buttons: UP, NEXT, DOWN. Just press the NEXT button repeatedly to cycle through the fields. Use the UP or DOWN to increase or decrease the values, respectively.Overall, this clock fits the bill of what I wanted a clock to look like but not exactly what I was looking for. If it had the relative humidity reading, then this would have been the perfect clock for me. But since appearance for me is a little bit more important than function, I went with this clock anyway and I have no regrets.Out of 10 this is a 9, but since the scale that amazon uses is only up to 5, I had to round 4.5 off to 5.

Perfect for our 1800 ft basement. The picture makes it appear brighter than it is with the lights off, but it’s more than adequate. It’s visible from the farthest areas. Easy to set up and adjust.

After making several comparisons I chose this wall clock and it has already proven to be an ideal choice. It is easy to set up, keeps accurate time and the large numbers, etc on the screen can be easily seen from across the room which was a bonus for we senior citizens. I have no regrets about this purchase and planning on ordering more as gifts.

This is it--this is the clock you know you gotta go with. Don't bother with the 10 or 14" or whatever other sizes are out there, forget all that: you know you need the 18. This clock is a daily part of my life and routine. I see it all the time and love it just as much as I did when I first got it a long, long time ago. I got it alongside another, smaller (and cheaper) clock made by a knockoff brand and while that one has already died out, this one is still going strong. So what are you waiting for? Yes, it's a bit overpriced, but it's practically the best that's out there and that always comes at a premium. I say go for it.

I like this clock. I have it in my office. It's visible from my video call camera so people often comment on it during calls. The downside has been it seems to drift. I have a bunch of atomic clocks that work without correction except on the dst change overs. This one drifts a few minutes over a few weeks. So I affectionately call it my troll clock, since it's always making me late.

It looks so much better than the picture!!!The numbers were bright enough to see from far away. Time setting is so easy! You can put the batteries in so if the power is out, it saves the setting and turns back on so you don’t have to re-set the clock. It does it’s job! Very likely to recommend to others.

I like the large LED display and the looks. This is large enough to read from a distance in the shop area. The display brightness options are nice.. I have 2 of these clocks.

I bought this clock in August to help my kids keep track of the time and date for cyber schooling. I wasn't sure how I'd like a blazing red LED institutional looking clock on my wall and I was a little concerned the light would overwhelm the room. I initially preferred blue, but the price was so much higher I went with red. I decided to go with Acu-Rite over an unknown brand because I have their hygrometer that still works great five years later.Turns out, we love the clock. The red is bright and has a nice, smooth glow, but doesn't burn your eyes or discolor the room. I can easily read it from two rooms over, so I can do chores and still make sure my kids are online at the right time.There was a problem, though. Just a little over a month after hanging it on my wall, I woke up in the morning and the display was completely black. I tried another outlet, which confirmed that the clock did not work.Since it was past the return date on Amazon, I went to Acu-Rite's website and chatted with a representative. (Currently, they only offer support through chat and email due to COVID.) While on chat, I provided my receipt and pictures, and THAT SAME DAY, they shipped out a replacement. Two days later I have a working clock before the start of a new school week!I hope this new clock works for years like my hygrometer. While I can't speak to the longevity of this unit, many people seem happy with theirs based on the high reviews, and at the very least, I can say that Acu-Rite stood behind their warranty and acted extremely quickly with respect to sending out a replacement.
