Germinates quickly when temps are 60-90 degrees
Planted this in early spring (March or April) and it took 2-3 weeks to germinate. In the summer and fall, planted it again two more times, and it germinated in a week. The last time, I didn’t even bother fertilizing or watering the seeds, but I did till the soil. It rained lightly once, and the grass sprouted nicely. This grass grows ok in the shade. However, it should be watered when it’s really hot and dry. At the same time, it doesn’t like too much water and may die if it gets flooded. When we had heavy rain for a week, the young (three week old) grass died or may be just the tops died. Then, after about three weeks of dry weather, the grass has been coming back on its own (not sure if it’s recovering from the roots or from dormant seeds that didn’t initially sprout).Update (June 7, 2021): Prior year’s grass came up looking even better this spring. When it first sprouted last season, the young blades looked thinner compared to the established grass. After a winter break, the grass came up with wider blades and grew very well in March-April-May. Planted even more this year. This time, I just threw seeds down by hand to fill in bare-ish spots. For spot filling, I recommend throwing it down fairly generously. Make sure the seeds are in contact with soil.

Spouted fast. Died fast.
Planted early June, which somewhat late for Connecticut. Came up really fast within a week. Died probably just as fast. Looked great while it was growing in. Never got thick only very thin strands. None the less I can’t say how it would have looked since It never came in fully. One note, nothing I’ve planted in this area has survived for long. Fall to the end of spring max.

Result!
Pretty stunned to be honest! I did not expect result at all. We had a dead zone under a pretty full maple, and a densely shaded north patch where only the bravest of weeds grow. I threw this out fully aware that it probably wouldn't work, much like every other seed we have tried. Imagine my delight to see little shoots of grass coming up! Not only would I order again, I already did!

This seed really is the best!!!
Great seed!!! I had used the bagged seed from Home Depot that comes in a sealed plastic bag. It never worked. So shopping on line I found this seed. To read up on it they said theirs comes in a breathable bag. I received it and spread it and watering and keeping it wet it took off. I can't believe how fast it grew.I recommend this company's products hands down.
