if you like short concise articles on the issues of the day...then this is the book foryou...Whether youpre a conservative or liberal or agnostic, the articles provide much food for thought. I found Walter Williams' view on things articulate and cogent, even where i didn't strictly agree with him...at least he made his case with facts and not just opinion. He made me long and hard about many of the politica assumptions i have lived with. We can't just read what we agree with all the time. We need to test our ideas to see if they are credible and if not abandon them for that which is truer...The book was a great test of what i believed, and although i wasn't always convinced of his arguments, i am the better off for having confronted them. The articles covered everything from race and economics, to the debt and deficit spending and the politics of the educational system and how it has created a "woke" class of citizens..His articles on race are particularly controversial in today's woke society and is bound to stir much debate...in fact we're still arguing over the issues explicated in his book many years ago...well worth the price...this one's a keeper.

Walter Williams is and has been a joy to follow. His articles were always well written and thought out. Sad that he's no longer with us. Only one thing I noticed when reading these articles is that Williams copies a lot of his own previous work to use in his current article. I've seen this done with others and it's okay, but is noticeable. I recommend the book and any videos that this man has produced.

Williams FILLS his book with so many interesting facts that you don't want to put it down. By using his background as a syndicated columnist, he cleverly writes 2-page overviews on different features of each problem facing America, including the why, what, where, when and who, in a concise, readable format. And to think - we have allowed the elites to lure us into all of their traps that weaken us and will cause our eventual demise, if we don't wake up! It would be difficult or impossible to disagree with Williams, so thorough is his presentation. In the last 60 years, since becoming aware of the slow destruction of America's liberty by these power-hungry elites, I have read many, many books on the subject. And I can unhesitatingly place AMERICA'S CONTEMPT FOR LIBERTY among the best of these. How fortunate are William's students at George Mason University!

If you want to learn more about the Constitution, or The Federalist Papers, you can sit down and read them which will be very dry if you do it without someone to guide you. In this book, Dr. Williams is your guide. If you do not have a lot of time to sit and read, and study for hours, this is the perfect book. Each article is only 2 pages long. It is written in everyday language. However, it is written with his relaxed and humorous style. (When he sits in for Rush on the radio, he references stories from his childhood, or with his wife to make a point.) It is not necessary to read cover to cover. The book is broken down into parts, and each part has various articles, so you can skip around reading what you prefer first. Dr. Williams references the Federalist Papers number, and the Section and Article of the Constitution, when arguing his point in a specific article, as well as the philosophy behind it. Dr. Williams is well respected - I am reading these articles with a yellow highlighter, and hanging on his every word. He is a national treasure, and yet, I feel like I am sitting with an old friend who is offering me personal instruction.

There is a reason why I gave this book 5 Stars. Amazon wouldn't let me give it ten, or nine or... Well, you get the idea.As a student of the founding of our country and the Constitution, I can say that Walter Williams understands our country and the founding of the government as few others.Many of the writings in this anthology gets to the very basics and bases of the creation of our government. For those that don't have the time or interest to read Locke, Jefferson, Madison, The Federalist Papers, AND the thought and opinions that went into the discussions of the documents,This book will, at the very least, give you a basic grasp of the Constitutional government created and envisioned by our Founding Fathers.Do not mistake the writings for "only Walter Williams" thoughts on the Constitution. His thoughts are steeped in the amazing creation of our form of government.For instance Mr. Williams asks, as to paying our fair share, How about you keep what you earn and I keep what I earn. If you don't think that's fair, tell me how much of mine you should get and why? This book is a compilation of various essays. All published before in other forums. Dr Williams was a brilliant man who could explain the complex by using very simple examples. He will be missed.

I actually discovered Dr. Williams just within the past several months, only for him to pass on a short time later. This book contains a wealth of his uncompromising and profound contributions to his promoting of "The Moral Superiority Of Personal Liberty, And It's Main Ingredient, Limited Government." It has instantly become one of my favorite books, and an invaluable reference for a great number of crucial issues affecting our lives as Americans. Dr. Williams made it clear just how far government has exceeding the limits placed on it's powers by our Constitution, and the problems we face as a result.

This is a thorough collection of Dr. Williams short posts. Most thoughts are about 2 pages in length, but still capture his whit and wisdom. Every fan of Dr. Williams needs a copy.

The item arrived really late and I received a full refund for it even though in the end I got the book.Also contentwise I find this book to bevery insightful. The author uses simple language and illustrative examples to explain the extent to which America and Americans have overstepped the constitution.

The author excels at logically and concisely explaining current issues, debunking the prevailing, often bogus narrative of the left or their well meaningful supporters.

Excellent compilation of essays from Williams. Maybe a bit repetitive at times, but when taken into consideration the format they were first presented in it's to be understood why. The points he was making need to be emphasized repeatedly to drive the damage being done home. Well worth reading a brilliant analyst such as Walter E. Williams.
