3D treat into the deep past
DON'T BUY THIS 3D MOVIE...unless you want GIANT DINOSAUR TOOTHY SNOUTS protruding out of your screen into your living room! Yes, if you have good 3D system with a large projection screen, this is a "must have" for your collection! Wow. What a great sequence not just to one particular time in our dinosaurian past, but a romp through various time periods across the planet. I'm a biologist and I was treated to creatures stalking and stomping into my living room I never knew existed. What a treat. Worth watching many times over. Bravo!

easily, the most comprehensive and enjoyable video on dinosaurs ...
I am fascinated by the study of dinosaurs and own a lot of videos on the subject. But, none (other than "Walking With Dinosaurs") can"hold a candle" to this one. It is, easily, the most comprehensive and enjoyable video on dinosaurs that I have ever watched. And, there is a lot of new information in here not in any other. It even debunks some long-held beliefs about dinosaurs. This is a "must see" documentary for anyone interested in this subject! However, BEWARE!!!!! I originally bought this documentary in just a 2D presentation. It was 174 minutes long - all of it very enjoyable. Then, "Planet Dinosaur" came out in 3D and I decided that I just had to have it. So, without doing much investigation, I ordered it. WOW! What a huge mistake! The 3D version is only 53 minutes long!!! (and not the best 53 minutes, in my opinion). So, I would give the original version of this 5 stars (or more if one could), but, due to its hugely disappointing length, I would give the 3D version 1 star!

I really enjoyed this "movie" - even though it was less than an hour long. It was very interesting and keeps your attention - went through the different dinosaurs species, when they existed, how they evolved, statistics, and had some excellent animation and imagined real-life scenarios. There were some VERY good 3D pop-outs and the animation was excellent. I've shared this with a couple of people and it's been very well received. Glad I bought it. Well worth the $$$$

Excellent 3D addition to Dinosaur Collection
A strong addition to a 3D or dinosaur collection. Extremely well researched and presented. The overlapping maps of the evolving world are fascinating. A menu of little known, recently discovered dinosaurs are featured and the newest theories and evidence.

Five Stars for the 3D version in bluray
Subtitles in english only. For the 3D you touch the dinosaurs in from of you. A shame that 3D bluray dont sell in Northamerica.

Good for Children
While the feature starts out with strong 3D and an interesting premise, it quickly dilutes into a child's documentary. Far too many "pauses" for fact checking, which tends to slow down the feature and detracts from what could have been an interesting feature. A recommended rental.

Decent content and superb use of 3D
I am still a huge 3D fan and anytime I can find good 3D movies I will buy it just for 3D effects. Based on reviews this one seemed like a good choice.Content:The content is good and describes a decent number of dinosaurs, fossils of which were found around the globe. The animation is good enough and there were a couple of more in-depth insights into a few dinosaurs, as much as they can have in ~50min, which is an average length for documentaries of this type. The issue I had is the editing, which was a bit all over the place without focusing on a or a couple of different themes, which is the only reason I am giving it four stars.3D:It is spectacular, especially when you have the carnivorous dinosaurs turning towards you and pop out of the screen. Ghosting is minimum and you won't notice it unless you go looking for it. It was a bit disappointing that the second half had a lot less pop out of screen effects especially since it was done so well in the first half. The information presentation made excellent use of 3D, in terms of text popping out from a specific point on earth. If you are into 3D, you should own it. Simple.
