Awning to cover security camera
We ordered it May 8 and received it on May 18, 2017. Today it took us 1.5 hours to put it up; you need 2 people and lots of patience. Very good quality clear plastic glass-like material;we are so happy that it is NOT green and true to the clear color. The price is so much more reasonable than Home Depot ($100 less). Ideally if anchors came with the super large screws, it would be perfect. Our carpenter who helped us drill the deep holes for the super long screws suggested the anchors; he gave us 4 anchors to help support the screws. We recommend this product to other customers.

Not for Winter Weather!!!!
So.. this awning was indeed difficult to install. The contractor who did our siding and my husband worked on it together, it took them approximately two hours to assemble and install it. We were happy with it during the first rain storms but it was up for less than two weeks when we got our first snow of the year. Yes, it was wet, heavy snow but it was six inches at most. The awning pulled away from the house, pulling the screws out of the wood and damaged our new siding. We will look for something much more sturdy.

Get the Masonry Expansion Bolts from Advaning for Brick installation. Heed the instructions!
We installed this awning on our brick house. The hardware that is included in the package is NOT for masonry. The company sells the masonry hardware (expansion bolts) separately. Do not try to get them anywhere else. Although it is possible to purchase expansion bolts from the hardware store, the ones that came from Advaning are different: Stainless Steel; Hex head, and most importantly, the screw is NOT attached to the sleeve. This means you can set the sleeve then remove the bolt for installation and the hex head allows you to back out the bolt if it is too far into the wall.Note that the directions for masonry installation are not sufficiently detailed. I raised this issue with customer service in January 2019, so hopefully they will have improved this now. The expansion bolt is supposed to be 3-1/4 inch long, but they tell you to drill a 3-1/2 inch pilot hole. If you set the bolt in that far, it is too short for the top holes on the bracket (for some reason to top of these are about 1/2' out from the wall, so they require the bolt to stick out from the wall further than the bottom holes). Also, the back edge rubber gasket does not fit tightly to the awning, so it will fall off if you are not paying attention. But, it is exactly the correct length so don't cut it if it has slid down.It is impossible to install this with one person. Two is the minimum, because you assemble the awning before mounting it to the wall. The dimensions make it impossible to hold both sides and see over the awning to make sure it is level for drilling the pilot holes for mounting screws.Unlike many reviewers here, I did not have difficulty assembling the brackets to the Polycarbonate--all by myself (while the handyman made three trips to the hardware store ISO the right expansion bolts--no success). The seals are tight but it fit. Per the instructions, I used a wood block (part of a 2 x 4 about 8 inches long) and a rubber mallet. Tapped it in a little at a time all along the length so I went over every few inches several times. If you try to rush this, you will not succeed at all. It took about 45 minutes. Wear gloves so you don't get the giant splinter I did from trying to hold the block of wood with bare hands (This task is barely within my skill set). The handyman spent hours trying to mount this to the wall with the non-company expansion bolts found at the local hardware store, and without a helper. No success. Total waste of time.Read the directions for the type of install before you start the job. Make sure you have the correct hardware from the company (the expansion bolts can be ordered on teh Advaning website, but they take several days to arrive so plan accordingly). Don't even try to install the awning against a wall with fewer than 2 persons on the job. Measure carefully. There is no play in the instructions or the measurements. Attention to detail, patience, and planning will save time on the total install. I doubt you will succeed if you think you don't need to read the instructions before you start.Once installed, it is beautiful and functional. I do wish that the PN series had metal brackets (these are plastic).Customer service was excellent. Very responsive and helpful. Overall, I recommend this product from this manufacturer.

Metal Trim Won't Fit
Sorry, but this product has problems. The upper and lower metal trim strips could not be attached over the rubber strips supplied. I watched the video and it looked simple to "tap" the trim over the the rubber strip. I got another person to help, and tried everything I could think of, including lubricating with vegetable oil. The fit was just too tight, even dented the metal trim trying to force it, so I gave up and installed it without the metal trim. I could not do otherwise because the metal trim strips were too loose without the rubber strips, and too tight to be put on with them. Otherwise the product would have gotten 5 stars. Once in place it is quite sturdy.

Great looks and quality but hard installation
This is great product. 5 stars for quality. I deducted 1 star as installation is hard. It took me one hour each panel to atatch seal and other things needed lots of soft hammering to insert the panel into brackets. I bought two panels thinking that I could easily connect them. But, if I connect them on the ground, then, it is too heavy to lift and install. If I install one of them and then try to install other one, it is very hard to insert one end into already installed bracket. Except the installtion part, I really like the looks and quality.

Simple to install and looks great
Installed it with my wife in about 2 hours from assembly to install. It's light weight but still needs 2 people to install to hold and keep level. Their was a YouTube video that showed tHow to make a template to install it with person if you want yo give it a try. Looks great and has survived 3big storms with no problems

The nicest one I could find
I live in a row house and did not want to sacrifice blocking sunlight into the front of my home. After some research I decided to spend a little more and went with the 55 inch PN Series. As others have stated, it took about 2 hours to install with 2 people. The longest part for me was drilling pilot holes into my brick (side note: I bought concrete screws at Lowes instead of using the ones provided). The panel is a bit thinner than I anticipated, I would be surprised if it can actually hold 200 lbs but I dont think even a heavy snowfall would produce that kind of weight so I'm not concerned. Overall I love this product, it definitely adds to the modern industrial aesthetic I'm going for.

Great awning!
Great awning! Easy assembly and installation. I like the clear view that it provides while protecting our door from the rain. I would buy this product again.

Exactly as pictured
Exactly what we needed and arrived in perfect condition. Great list of tools/etc that are required for installation, but could mention that a support board is needed to mount on house if it is siding as siding is not enough to hold it . We placed a board attached to the studs and then hung the awning on the board. Worked great in a rainfall which was the whole purchase. Very clear so does not block any light coming through the door. Love it. Now we just hope it holds up to the snow load as mentioned in specifications.
