The book for history buffs living in WA
I can get lost in this book so so easily. It has so much historical information, and so many different spots, that it is difficult to put down once you get engrossed in it. It is really awesome to see what was going on in our area a hundred years ago plus, and to know more about the history of my culture in this area. The history of european immigrants moving here in the early 1900s (yes, we encountered racism as well, even though we're white. Because we were 'dirty norwegians' as the locals would call us), and it's incredibly enlightening to try to empathize with your ancestors and try to understand what it was like to have lived during this time. The book much surpassed my expectations

GREAT BOOK!
Fantastic book, just enough information for me. I like to read these two brothers website also and see all the hikes they have listed on it. They give you some unusual places to hike to that are in not in the "normal" hiking books for this area.

Great HIkes
This is a great book! It gives me some very interesting places to explore. All the information you need is there; directions, distance, elevation and more. I especially like the maps.

This books is nice if you are interested in some history/background of the hikes/routes.
This book is a nice touch with the addition of the history about each hike/area. I own many hiking books so there isn't a lot new here as far as hikes/routes go, but it is nice to have the added history about each hike. Book is well done and worthy to add to my collection of hiking books. If you already own a lot of hiking books you probably won't find much new here but if you are more curious about the areas of the hikes the book is worth having.

Good book, not for the whole state, only western side
Everything is written from Seattle for directions. And there’s nothing in it that I have found for trails in eastern Washington. :( bummed out as I’m on the eastern side and these are mainly all on the western side.Well written though.

Great buy!
I bought this book as a present for my boyfriend and he loves it! He's a bit of a history nerd and we both enjoy hiking, so it was a great fit. We haven't tried any of the hikes yet but it's already suggested some that he likes!
